First day on a job more often then not sucks :o(
However you cant possibly make a well-informed decision after one shift. Give it a try and meanwhile keep an eye out for other opportunities. If after 2 or 3 weeks you are still feeling bad about the job and can't take much more, sit down with your manager and let them know that you're not getting what you wanted from the job and are looking elsewhere ;o)
Hope things get better for ya :o)

Give it a week, you are probably just nervous about learning everything, and figuring out where you fit in. If a week doesn't help, look for another job before quitting this one. If you are asked in an interview why you want to leave that job, just tell the asker that you realize that it isn't the job you thought you wanted, and although you appreciate the experience, you want to find a job that fits you and the new employer better. And be ready to give examples of the experience you got at this job (including that you know when you should get out) that will make you a better employee at the new one!

Okay I am going to say stick out a little longer but keep looking for another job while you are staying in the one you have. 1 of 2 things will happen...... you will either find a new job and put your 2 weeks notice in and leave or you will start liking your new job because you cant judge anything based on one shift. But dont just quit your job without being responsible enough to have another one first.

Hello Anon, give it a go before you give up on it, you will never know if you like it, if you don't try it fairly. I am retiring this year, but I have had lots of jobs when I was younger and I felt the way you are feeling tonight about a few of them. I did give them a fair trial and most of them worked out fine after a few days. I only left two jobs because I didn't like them, but I kept my record clear and gave proper notice as you should do if it doesn't work out, then you will have a clear record and maybe a reference too. Good luck with it.

I know how awful it feels to go into a place that you hate early in the morning. My advise if you really need the money, don't quit for now until you have a new one that you will like.
In the meanwhile I like to invite you to go look at this site. You can make all the money you want from home. It's free, and easy to do. Again, I forgot about those free gifts like an xbox360, playstation3, ipods, computers etc, etc...!!
Go ahead check it out, cant hurt you its all legal and honest.
Good Luck 2 U!

That is because you are new and have not yet built up a comfort zone, ie knowing the layout, what you are doing etc. This happens to everyone starting out in a new position, even if that position is within the same company. Hang in there it will get better as you become more familiar with your surroundings, coworkers, and responsibilities.

I work in a care home for old people with mental health problems, and I have seen quite a few people start working there, they do it for a day, and decide it's not for them. The polite ones take the trouble to ring and say so, the less polite ones just don't turn up the second day. It happens. If it's not for you, don't do it.

im in the same boat, i felt that way about the job from the first day. i am now in my fifth week and i still feel the same, im handing my notice in 2morrow i think. ive got an interview with another job.
if i were you i would try it for a week, if it gets worse then seriously just leave. you dont want to be in a job that makes you feel miserable.
hope you have luck in finding another job

You can't really judge the job from the first day. give it a couple of weeks and see how you feel. If it's still bad, then yes look for another job.
