My husband and I are thinking about setting up our own haulage business and need to find out how the jobs are priced, whether it be £ per mile or on weight etc. He has worked in the industry for many years but always for someone else and is trying to get a business plan together, but we need to know what income we would be generating.
Many thanks in advance

Everyone once in a while I like to debate with home owners about there "great investment". For years, I've been badgered by others to pursue the "great invesment". I still choose the "Life investment".

Life investor: Well...I'm going fishing and camping for a couple of weeks...Cya !

Home owner: Wow, thats great but I got fix the plumbing and do some painting and I need to be at work to pay the mortgage !

Life investor: I'm taking off to Thailand to backpack for 45days in a few months

Home owner: When I 'm retired someday I hope to get over there too...

I could go on and on.....lol.

Bangkokslim reminding you to:

Invest in your life, invest in the market, be free.

P.S. Don't join the endless zombies ! Buy a home...buy a home....you must buy a home....lol.

My fiancee hasn't filed his taxes for the last 5 years. he worked for a construction company that paid him with a business check and no federal/state/social security or anything else was taken out of his check. That was 4 years of the 5. And he did not file this year either. After I explained to him how serious this is he has decide to file his taxes and straighten out the whole thing before the year is out. What is our next move.....
He doesn't have any of his W-2 forms form the construction job if it matters at all. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks So Much

I have 80,000 in my bank account thats supposed to be all my capital. My interests lie in animals and nature. the home was sold on July 27th at an auction and that is the day we moved out. we returned our keys and sent a letter explaining where to send our deposit on that day. the 21 days has now passed and we did not recieve the deposit or a required deductions list. the landlord did not even give us the required inspection prior to moveout. we are going to take him to small claims and sue, i think we have a very valid bad faith claim as well, to ask for double the deposit. i have been reading about california civil code section 1950.5 which covers this, but i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, have had similar experiences, or know of any relevant prior cases that i can use in our defense. thanks

I have 2 credit cards. One is secured with a limit of $200 which was how much I deposited when I opened it, and the other card is a regular card with $300 limit. I spend about 30-50% of my limit then pay off in full each month.

Are two cards enough or would a third card help build my credit faster? Also do you think I should increase my $200 limit higher? Will this be better for my credit?

Thanks!

I am talking about all one card. Assuming one has the credit limit to do so. Say, one has a $5,000 C.C. debt with a %12 APR and a $15,000 credit limit and they are given purchase checks with a fixed 7% APR (which many c.c. companys do). I know they forbid you from using those to pay balances from the same company that issued them, but why not just use one of those purchase checks to write $5,000 cash to yourself, put that money in your checking account. Then, write a regular check to pay off that higher $5,000 APR on your credit card so that you are left with $5,000 debt at 7% rather than $5000 debt at 12%

I am trying to get into a job, and was notified by the employer I am seeking,That they can not find proof that I took my GED.That they called even the department of education in the state were I said I have taken the test and they have no documents to support it.
I had called the Department of institute in the state that i had took it from and explained to them I needed to obtain a copy of my GED certificate that I had took 10years ago. They told me there was no verification that I took such test. I know have to tell the employee with even my attempt I can not even obtain any proof. I know I took my test and I had lost it a long time ago. but, now I dont know what to tell the employer as far as What other options can I take to start the job, with suggesting I can take a test here in the state that I am in now. "but without sounding to the employer that I had never had a GED before" like I said I know I took it but now there is no proof, so what I DO ? HELP!

I was fired from my last job about three months ago, haven't found another one yet. My last boss wasn't exactly the best person to work with. Some of the things he did include:
-Humiliate me in front of the staff and vendors
-Threatened to demote me if I ever called in sick
-Ordered me to violate the company's safety policy (BTW he was also Safety Coordinator)
-Lied to me on a daily basis
-Do random cleanings of my desk, in which he threw out projects I was working on (One of the reasons I was told I was being fired is because projects wern't being finished)
-Refused to listen to me when I told him I was having trouble with some aspects of my job
-Would refuse to answer my questions and when I proceeded to do things on my own, he would tell me I was wrong
-Constantly called me a failure

I see other people say "put a positive twist on your firing", but how can you do that when there is no positive to all of what I just said?

i purchased this house for 31k, rehabbed it for 41k, my intention is to have it appraised and hopefully it will appraised for 170k.
i want to take 80k once the house is refinanced and buy another house and rehab it.
one bank said i would have to take out 2 mortgages because 80k would be more than 20% of the equity in the house.
i plan to rent it out for 1150 a month, i keep the rent low so my tenants will want to stay
i have a property management group already
do i want to refinance this house or do i need an open line of credit on this house in order to get the money to rehab future house? do i want to form an llc. can i use real estate investing as the reason i am forming an llc, outside of protecting my personal assets? i just want to buy and rehab houses for now, each time time taking the money from the previous house i bought to buy another one. i hope i didnt confuse anyone.

Right now I have a 10K debt on one of my C.C. and it has a high interest rate, but if I am able to get a 10K loan dollars to pay off the entire amount and then use a C.C. purchase check from that same card (but this time with a much lower interest rate) to pay off the loan in a week or less I will be in better shape. One side note is that the local bank that I will be asking the loan from is also the same bank that owns the C.C. Do you think this idea will work. I have a lot of student loan debt in addition to this C.C. although my credit rating is pretty good. I feel something like this is my only option because I don't see my income getting that big in the near future and I can only afford to make the min. payment which is getting me nowhere. A debt counseling agency will only help me if I get rid of the card, which is my only source of emergency funds. Also, I am unable to get another lower interest rate C.C.to transfer to $ to because of the my high debt to income ratio
