I have a term paper and I don't know where to start. I am supposed to be a 23 year old, recently graduated with a degree in marketing. I have 80,000 in my bank account thats supposed to be all my capital. My interests lie in animals and nature. I am supposed to open a service based small business with that capital in my interest field.

An animal shop or even a garden shop. If going the animal route do NOT sell animals, if you do, sell animals from recues. Pet store animals are often from mills and irreputable breeders. There are far too many animals needing rescue to justify opening another pet store.
You can sell good quality food and start a niche for yourself. Do some research, find the best dog and cat food and offer these instead of Meow Mix, Friskies, etc.

I'm a pure romance consultant, i do in home parties where i educate and empower women about their sexuality. Why don't write about starting a traveling agency which organizes safaris and treks. The business model is depending on your customers needs you customize the trips and try to get people with similar interest to go on same trips.

Ask people who have experience in business. What you studying in your degree is not the real world in bussiness so i suggest you to learn from the expert before you begin your bussiness.
Its easy to begin your bussiness since you have own capital and main idea in your business.
Experince is everything...

I feel better to think of some hassle free online business like domain regsitration , web site hosting...
Its simple .. but you can mint money .... There are many company's looking for resellers ..
Hwy cant you think of such things.. I also tried and started www.google4hosting.com
It works fine and interesting......
