Husband and wife have filed jointly for years. Husband took off one day and has been living with his parents somewhere in Europe. He has made no contact with his wife in over a year. So, when the wife files her taxes this next year, would she file 'married filing separately' since they are still married? Also, should it be of any concern to her, or will it come back on her if he doesn't file any tax return?

Just got an email from an interviewer regarding a paper i submitted so support my application for a teaching job. She said that "she could see a lot of effort was put in to make it attractive and meaningful." She added that she would "make my recommendation to the director. HR will be in touch soon."

I don't know what to make of it? Does it sound positive to you?

I'm interested in refinancing my car, but don't want to do so if it just reduce my monthly payments and term is extended. What if I have my car refinanced, what will happen? Is monthly payment gonna be lowered with the same term(in my case 48months)? or monthly payment stays the same and term's gonna be shortened? I'm sorry if I'm not making sense... somebody help me~

such a huge fraud, should have been under review and prediction by InterPol since months ago. Although their identification is not clear to members and investors, it could be easily found out because all those wire transfers they do, requires a real identification in the source bank. I think they are going to be back again soon

I need some legal advice on taxation of the sale of inherited real estate in Connecticut. Is it more efficient to leave the title in the estate or transfer the deed and title of the property to the executor or heir? Is sale of inherited property treated as capital gain if so what is the basis.

old school tuition. not paid. 10yrs ago. I have documentation stating judgment was ruled on 1998. so far my research has turned up judgments are here to stay for 20yrs on your record. And if I am not mistaken they are renewable. I figured the SOL of 7yrs would help but they were smart and made that judgment move. So now the damage is up to 2k. Should I wait it out another 10yrs or begin making plans to pay it off? And to pay it off, are there any services that maybe might help reduce the amount owed maybe to original debt amount without the interest of 10yrs? I think with judgments there are no negotiations here, am I right?
Funny thing is on my credit report there is no mention of this judgement. The only time I see it in action is when instead of receiving my state refund from taxes I get this letter stating it used to pay this judgment on me. So I suspect maybe there is some foul play and that maybe I can fight it if its not legit

Not zero interest rate, zero FEEs. I used to get those offers in years past, but no longer. My credit is perfect, but I am probably no longer a perfect customer from the POV of the cards, because I have high limits I don't use, pay off my balances every month, don't use most of my cards most months, etc.

My wife has been receiving mail in her maiden name, and we have been married for almost a year now, is there a way to fix this? It doesn't matter what name they have to send her stuff, her credit score wont be affected by it whether its under her new name or her maiden name, it doesn't change anything does it?

We purchased our home in Ada County, Idaho November 2006 and lived in the home. My husband received orders and for the Army to move to Alabama for over a year. He left the end of February, 2007. I stayed in the home until the middle of June 2007. From the end of June 2007 to present we have been receiving rent for our home that is significantly less than the mortgage payment. If we decide to sell the home without using an agent, will we need to pay any taxes for the gains? We expect to receive approximately $20-25k more than we paid due to the extras we added.

Are there any exemptions from Capital Gains due to military move? What if we purchase another less expensive home, but put the gains into other debt?

Your responses are appreciated.

what is the lowest monthly amount I should expect them to go? I am under undue hardship and really need to negociate the bare minimum monthly payment I can. But I am not sure is there is a certain dollar amount I can expect that they will not fall below. They have set me up for $100.00 a month. But considering the disaster the bany levy of $1800 has put my family in, I need that figure to be much closer to $50 a month, do I have any "rights" to speak of??? help

I just signed a lease for one year with an apartment company. They incorrectly spelled my last name on the lease and my signature on it is not even close to what my real signature is.

Anyway, my job just informed me that I'm being relocated in a month so this puts me in a bind. I don't want to be charged a RIDICULOUS $1,500 to break the lease.

I have no moved into the apartment yet and my lease hasn't even started. I was just wondering if any law buffs out there knew what kind of a chance I could have if I tried to get out of it with my ammunition being that they do not have the correct name on the lease. Thanks.

I am a real estate investor and I was looking into getting a property under contract and setting up a lease option with a tenant buyer. Is it true that if the tenant buyer, fails to make the monthly payment, that I would not be able to evict them and I (Or the actual owner) would be forced to go into foreclosure? If this is true, how can I protect my self, or what can I do to prevent this. I know people do lease options all the time, so this would seem like a big risk, if it was the case.
