I am a single mom of two children, I just got them enrolled in daycare for a very low cost each week, but I don't have a job!!! I have NO income what so ever! Not even child support. Does ANYONE have any suggestions where I can start working ASAP. I have a GED, I have some exp in clerical/office type work, and I can work 1st and/or 3rd shift.

Ok, I should have been more clear.. I was on a waiting list. And yes, it was my turn. I put them on the list when I did have a job. And when their father was helping! I have been to the employment agencies, and they are all "slow right now" I have put in SEVERAL apps. and I am getting no where, maybe it's just me!

Why would you put them in day care if you have no need for it? No job etc. Cannot comprehend the thinking here.

I feel you there. I know how hard it really is. All you can do is search for another job I know it won't bring you money right away as quick as you need to pay the day care until you have the proof of work. Get a loan until you get paid or work from home.
Here is a place you can go to, good money, free gifts like computers, ipods, xbox360, playstation3 and many more.
It's an honest business. Great for work at home moms and students. Good luck 2 U.

Why are they in daycare if you don't have a job. I don't mean that to sound rude but seriously. Were you on a waiting list and the spots just became available?

Anyway, maybe check out some temp agencies.

Hit the streets! Most places that are looking never advertise. You could also try a temp agency. Their temp jobs can turn into permanent jobs if the place that uses you likes you.

I would check out either the want ad's in the local newspaper OR go to www.snagajob.com...then you can look up what you want to do, how much you would like to start, how far you would like to travel & etc.

i would suggest grabbing a part time job ANYWHERE....a retail store, at the mall, food place, anything....and spend the rest of your time looking for a job that pays more.
