I live in London and I'm hoping to go to the US with my family soon.
I think it's so incredible, the food, clothes, shops, the huge spaces of land etc.

What state do you reccomend I go to?
I've only been once and I went to Orlando, Florida. I dont remember it too much as I was young.

Take into account the family has 2 teens in it, and grown ups.

Is it cheaper to go to America depending on what state and a certain time?
If so when and where?
Thanks.

If I need a loaf of bread, or milk (like a half gallon or more). I will not have a car because we are using the shuttles to get around. So, leaving the property is not an option.

I heard that one of the resorts, maybe the wilderness lodge has a general store. Is that correct, and do the shuttles run to this resort?

Thanks!

Hello everyone

Thanks for taking time out to read this. I'm a exchange student at SDSU and I thought that it would be a lot cheaper here than in England, so far the clothes have been cheaper but not much else, could someone tell me if that's because I'm in San Diego?

Where could I find cheap homeware (Wal-Mart isn't that cheap) If someone could suggest some dirt cheap shops I would be very greatful!

I wanted to know after buying a car in the US what do I need? Insurance? Tax? Etc

Thank you in advance for all your answers.

Sensible answers appreciated.

=)

We rented a trailer to pull in back of the car, but then found that the car couldn't pull the weight. Any thoughts on preferences for renting a U-Haul, Penske, or Budget truck with car in toe dolly, or having a moving company move things for us?

I enjoy the views from there and like to get away from the busy life. But I have actually seen coyotes there, and was also warned about mountain lions and rattle snakes. I was thinking about going hiking there at night time and look at the stars in the middle of the night. But now I kind of wonder how safe that really is. Also, you don't really seem to have cell-phone reception there. That especially accounts for the northern site of the valley. So does that mean I would never be able to spend a night a little away from the valley of Los Angeles and be safe?

Don't get me wrong, I love Los Angeles. But the city life and smog sometimes burns me out and I need nature to refresh me.

i just moved to the northern site of the valley in the los angeles and am stunned to sometimes see coyotes walking around in the streets in the middle of the night. I love nature and was thinking of may be going to o'melveny park in the middle of the night to avoid the heat during the day. You supposedly have nice views from all the way up there. But now that I see coyotes I am not so sure. My girlfriend tells me I can still do that since they don't do anything. I don't have to worry about rattle snakes and mountain lions either she says, since mountain lions don't even exist anymore and rattle snakes mind their own business. But recently I talked to a neighbor of mine and she told me that a coyote killed her dog once, and that was in her yard. So now I'm not sure.

Hello,

We are thinking of retiring near Seattle or Olympia.
And someone was nice enough to inform me that Sequim and Anacortes are the retirement communities around the Seattle area. Does anyone know where the retirement communities are around Olympia?
If there are none, which areas or side of town would be quietest/safest?

Thanks!

I am looking for a wonderfully beautiful, secluded out of the way place to have my wedding. It will be a very small gathering ( 5 people) and we would prefer a place that is out in nature, publicly accesable, and beautiful. The fewer tourist that we run into the better. Neither of us are big hikers, so a place that is easy to get to woudl be best, but a little hiking is okay. Waterfalls, forests, and wonderful views will be top of our list. Let me know if you have suggestions.
