We are from a tropical country,I want my children to see snow,or throw snow balls,but we are in Sacramento.Where is the nearest place where we can see/experience snow? There are 4 of us, so its expensive to travel out of state by plane.We can drive do have a GPS.

My husband and I are going to have one day to ourselves this Friday in Sac. I would like some sugestions on hotels in the Old Town area that would be romantic. Also a good restaurant, maybe French in the area.

I'm afraid of windy, high-up mountain roads (especially with ice on them in the winter).. I've never been to Tahoe or Truckee but want to go. What's the best roads to take to avoid scary mountain icy roads? Or is there a best way? Please answer if you have experience!

My company may transfer me to the Sacramento area from Denver. One of the things I really like about Denver is the fact it has very few bugs, and we can leave our patio door open without the worry of a swarm of mosquitos or flies ending up in the house. What is the Sacramento area like?

I called PODs (we've used them before for a shorter move and liked them) They quoted us over $9,000 for two pods enough for our entire house. That doesn't include our cars expenses?!?!?
