i do no longer see a delicate rail prepare device coming to the Metropolitan Detroit section interior the destiny and right here is why; a million) Michigan does not have the money to assist a device. Michigan is broke and investment this technique might fee different funds. 2) The Metropolitan section isn't a community of the rustic it relatively is prepared approximately having public transportation. What the metropolitan section at the instant has appropriate now's the smart Bus device and a few communities interior the section has eradicated the provider interior the final 5 years through low ridership. 3) Detroit has a asserting "Its the Motor city, Get A vehicle." Many interior the section have self belief that the only thank you to get around Detroit is tochronic a gasoline guzzling motor vehicle that eats up you funds on gasoline and till Detroiters understand some super reward of public transportation, this is going to stay the excuse to why Detroiters won't help public transportation.

The light rail is an excellent compliment to the transit system in the Sacramento area. It is very affordable and provides residents with a viable option to move within the city center and outlying areas. The bus system feeds directly to the train stations.

As with all public transportation systems, there are some issues related to the stations, etc., but that is to be expected.

It seems to be a very good system if you want to go where it goes. It serves two suburban corridors and passes through downtown on the way. If you live near the line (or close enough to drive to the park-and-ride lot just before your train leaves), it will work well for you. If you have to drive more than a few minutes or take a feeder bus, it can be a serious pain in the butt.

the 2 biggest problems with light rail are:(1) the stations themselves are dens of crime and unsavory types, especially at night, which i think is partly caused by:(2)there are no faretakers, so it's a basically an "honor" system,so these same "unsavory" types can hop on and off at will, risking only a ticket if they get caught, which they never plan on paying anyway!this problem is far less east of Mather Field.

My opinion, the only problem I have heard of is the stations themselves. I don't know about all areas, but the, uhh well, ghetto ones, I would be careful. Especially at night. Otherwise wise it is a convenient thing.
