I drove by Beale a few years ago on the way from Marysville to Grass Valley. It's surrounded by open space. It's in the Central Valley right on the edge of the Sierra foothills. The closest "urban" area is the Yuba City/Marysville area.

I lived at Edwards for six years starting to be up from my preteens through severe college. And labored there approximately 10 years in the past. that is interior the Mojave barren area, and the temps do get warm, in specific situations upward to a hundred and fifteen° in July and August. yet these days, their housing rather has aircon - something unprecedented as quickly as I grew up there. (We had evaporative coolers.) The BX and Commissary are extremely great, and there are extremely some greater centers for the kinfolk these days. the closest city is Rosamond, approximately 11 miles from considerable Base, and the better cities interior sight are Lancaster and Palmdale. it extremely is the place people do their buying, for the main area (different than the BX). la is approximately an hour and a nil.5 or so away, and Las Vegas is approximately 4 hours away. there is likewise mountain inns interior an hour and a nil.5 to 2 hours away, besides. the backside is placed in a desolate area, yet once you're adaptable, that is rewarding.

Its in the Yuba City Marysville area, what we call okie, still fairly rural but not a bad area. Its growing a bit and one of the most affordable areas to live in. Its pretty centrally located so you dont have to go far at all for camping, fishing, hunting, a little farther for skiing but still only a couple of hours from the bay area. Its a little far to commute to Sacramento in my opinion but I'm sure a lot of people do it.
