Possible relocation for work in Downtown Sacramento. Is Plumas Lake, CA too far to live? How's the commute from there? Would it be worse or better if we relocate to Roseville? THANKS A BUNCH! :)

Roseville will probably be a better choice, but the only drawback commuting from Roseville to Downtown is traffic. Oh how I love traffic...

However, I live in Roseville and I absolutely love it here! =]

Good luck!

Plumas Lake to Downtown Sac is quite a drive. Roseville would be closer, but there's quite a bit of traffic going from Roseville to Downtown in the morning.

Its a pretty good distance, Roseville is closer, you will hit commute traffic coming from Roseville to DT Sac, you can find back roads to avoid traffic. I think th Plumas area might be more affordable but real estate is down everywhere right now. You might look at Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks also.

According to my map search, Plumas Lake is at least 60 miles north of Sacramento. I live in Citrus Heights, about 15 miles north, and I consider it a half hour drive with no traffic. With traffic, my drive would be an hour. From PL, much longer.

Roseville is a much better choice, and housing is getting cheaper (relatively) every day. The average now is right around $400,000.
