I'm going to Disney World this winter. but im not sure what kind of tickets i can buy. Does one ticket let you go to all the parks? Or do you hve to buy a different ticket for each park?

So far you have received some incorrect information. Disney has several options. If you are going for multiple days, you will want to buy a multi-day ticket. For example, you can buy a 4-day pass. It saves a little bit of money over buying 4, 1-day tickets. The next thing to consider is if you want to add any options to your basic tickets. You can add the Dining Plan, the no expiration option, water parks.

You can also add the park hopper option. The park hopper option allows you to go to multiple parks on the same day, using just one day of your ticket. If you do not get this option, you can only go to one park a day. You can, however, leave that park for a break and re-enter the same park later in the day. But you could not for example, go to Magic Kingdom all day, then go over to Epcot to watch Illuminations (their nighttime fireworks show). You could only stay at Magic Kingdom all day. Personally, if it is your first time I wouldn't bother with park hoppers. There's enough to keep you busy without wasting valuable time trying to get from park to park.

Here is an excellent place to read up on all the different options and their prices.

They have single day pass, which is one park a day. Park hopper passes, which let you bounce around to all the parks. They also have a water park and more option for a ticket, which you choose access to the water parks, Disney Quest, or clubs in Downtown Disney. There also is a no expiration option for the tickets, so if you don't use one of the days you bought, you can still come back at later time. When you buy the tickets either at a ticket kiosk at the parks or online you buy all your days and get a ticket which has all your information, and you use it the whole time... If you stay on Disney property, they give your key to the world when you check in, which you use as ticket and hotel key. Hope that helps! Good luck and have fun!!!!!!!

Base tickets allow guests to purchase 1 day Disney tickets. They aren't associated with any particular of the 4 theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, or EPCOT) until you use one of them at a specific location. Then if you choose to leave the park, say for dinner or to relax at the resort, you can only return to that same park in that same day. But if you buy a park hopper pass, you can visit any of the 4 in a single day.
With the recent increase in ticket costs, I've been recommending that guests purchase an extra day or two on their ticket and add the "no expiration" option. This way, you'll buy 1-2 or more extra days at a discounted rate (the more days you buy, the cheaper the tickets get each additional day/ticket) and with the no expiration option, they will never expire. So you can save those remaining days for your next visit. If you visit often, this is a great money saver overall.

Individual park tickets or a park hopper pass all depends on how long you will be here for. Since it will be winter (it does get chilly here) so having a hopper pass with water park option may not be worth it. I would suggest you check the various sites to see which rides and attractions will be shut down for refurnishing or rehab as winter is the time Disney tends to do this. If coming in the last 2 weeks of Dec. the parks will be crowded giving you less of a chance to 'see everything'. The first 2 weeks of Dec. are a much better time. Most newbies try and do all 4 parks in a week, which while possible to do they miss alot of things at the parks they are most interest in seeing. Take your time, relax and enjoy yourself. There is alot more to Disney World then just the parks. Remember also that winter hours are in effect so you really have less time to see each park.

The base ticket for WDW allows you to enter one park per day (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM.) Purchase the tickets for the length of time you are going to be visiting Disney, then you can add from there. If you are planning on visiting the water parks or DisneyQuest, then I would suggest the Water parks and more option, so you don't have to worry about separate entrance fees for those attractions.

I would strongly suggest adding the park hopper option. The park hopper option basically gives you the ability to come and go as you please with no problems. Like I said earlier, the base ticket allows you to go to one park per day. Let's say you are like my family however. We like to mix it up a little, and go to the MK in the morning, then Epcot at night. Let's say you spend the day at the Animal Kingdom, which closes earlier than the other parks, and you decide that after a rest at the resort you want to go to MGM to catch the Fantasmic night time show. You can ONLY do this if you have the park hopper option. It just gives you the most flexibility and ease on vacation, and trust me it is worth the little extra expense.

Hope this helps, have a great trip!

Disney is always changing it's ticket program...and prices...so what you see or buy today, can change next year. But, depending on what you can afford to spend...and how often you go, or plan to go, to Disney, I'll give you my 2 cents worth.

Buy the park hopper tickets, without an expiration date...and buy them for as many days as you can afford. This way, if you but a 10 day ticket...and only use it for 3 days this year...you still have 7 days of use left for any time in the future.
And the way their current ticket program is being offered, the more days you purchase, the cheaper it gets...per day. Presently, a 2 day park hopper adult ticket with no expiration date is $199.00, or $99.50 a day. But the 10 day one is $450, or $45.00 per day. And, no matter how many price increases Disney has in the future, you still own unused tickets at $45.00 per day.

The first time I used park hopper tickets years ago, my wife planned out a great iternary for us...and I have to admit, I first thought she was crazy for doing it, but it worked!

We started each day at a park with a character breakfast and spend the morning there. Then moved to another park for lunch and spend the afternoon there...and then another park for dinner and closed out the night there. Our kids were young at the time, and I think the constant change helped to keep them up...they didn't get bored, tired, etc.

Now, we had reservations for each meal...we were staying at Fort Wilderness, so we went to the park that was opening early each day to start off and we closed out each night around 10:00...I like to get my money's worth when I go there.

Wow you had some great answers from people who work within Disney, the question is What does all these tickets cost?

We travel from the UK and as a family of seven the flex tickets and hopper tickets are the way to go, but these are not cheap if you are a large family like ourselves....here's a great family run site on traveling to Orlando and all the theme parks...plus all tickets and how they all work http://www.sunkissed-orlando-holidays.com/theme-parks.html

If you get park hopper than you can go to all the parks as much as you want to. Your ticket is your room key (which looks like a credit card-oh and you can add a credit card onto it so that you can make purchases). If you get the waterpark and more option with the park hopper, you can go to downtown disney -clubs, disney quest, and the waterparks as much as you want. That is what i always get. Disney quest is a 5 floor aracde that is awesome! The waterparks are both great and you can snorkle with real fish and baby sharks at Typhoon Lagoon. The parks are top in the world, so dont miss them. Have fun!

If you want to break up your days, like in the morning visit Disney and later visit another park I would suggest a "Hopper" or if you plan on spending a week or so in parks they have a program for that it costs around $210.00 for a 7 day pass to all park owned by Disney
