What is the weather like in San Antonio, Texas in December and January?

San Antonio is generally temperate.

Please note that last Jan we had several days of very cold (sub freezing) weather with icing that shut the city down for about 3 days.

Personal note: Many lost power, mine was out for 70 hours.

The extremely cold days are rare and short lived. Last appreciable snow in SATX 1985.

From year to year it varies some but I have seen it almost 90 in December and I have seen it down into the 30s, What seems normal is that the day time it runs from mid 50s to almost 70 and night time mid 30s to the mid 40s

In January we kind of have a mixed bag of tricks. The first part of January will be from the 40s to 50-60s during the day and 30s to 40s at night, but normally in January we see our winter around the middle of the month toward the end of the month we will see the temp. dip to upper 20s and low 30s at night and upper 30 to 50 during the day. It is not usual for us to have some rain to include freezing rain. Remember that we have over 32 degrees (melting point 32) most of the time and that freezing rain doesn't last very long.

The weather in the NW part of Texas like the panhandle have four seasons. It does get very cold in Amarillo, Lubbock and etc. But San Antonio usually have very hot Summers and very mild Winters. If it does get cold, it usually last only for a day or so and back to warm/mild weather.
