ok, heres my situation. I am 25, male, and have no tie downs here in the Midwest, and Im thinking about moving to Vegas. I would probably have about 5000 dollars saved up just so I can move there, find a job, and get an apartment. Unfortunately, I wont be able to move there w/ any of my friends, so Im going to have to support myself on...probably a 10 or so dollar an hour job, or whatever job I can find quickly...I hear money goes fast! Anyway, I have a 2-part question. First, I heard that there are short term (1-6 month) efficiency and 1-bedroom rentals that exist out there in Vegas. Is this true? because that would be ideal for my situation. Also, Would I need to find a job before any of these places would rent to me? That would be a major problem, and I'd have to rethink this whole thing if thats the case...or find a job there, online or something. Anyhow, I just want to live there for a few months to see if Id like it. Thanks, and any other useful info would be helpful

I am from the east coast, and moved to California last fall. I really enjoy the weather, but based on so many negative factors such as traffic, high costs, pollution, I am wondering if its not worth the hassle. Also, CA residents only make 10% more then people in other states, so its not really relative to what you are paying to live here. I do live in Hollywood, but will be moving in Burbank in a few months. Someday I would like to buy a house, but I dont see it happening here. Thanks

I live in NYC and my bf and I am looking to get out of the city for a long weekend. I was considering Montauk, but I'm concerned it's turned into an area similar to the Hamptons, and I don't want anything too obnoxiously ritzy or touristy.

Here's what we're generally looking for in a place:
- pretty quiet
- not much to do (so we don't feel pressured to see any "sights")
- a beach (preferably not ultra-crowded)
- semi-affordable (but it doesn't have to be super cheap)

Thanks in advance!

I'm going to NYC next year for school and I won't have a room mate, plus the school I'm going to doesn't have dorms. I can only afford about 1k a month for rent and was wondering where I could possibly live that's nice and not scary, considering I'm a pretty small female. Is there a region where I could possibly just get an apartment, like in a complex and not a private house? I know I won't be able to afford Manhattan but perhaps Long Island or Staten Island where ever it is I need something close to a train.

I know that I can walk, but this is just in the case of horrible weather. Is the Hard Rock Cafe even near Times Square? It's address is 1501 Broadway. Do I take the 1 and just get off at the first stop? And how do I find that subway line after getting off the train in Penn Station? Any help greatly appreciated!

I've been watching the weather temperature in Las Vegas and it's seems to be very hot! I'm leaving this Saturday for Vegas, but I want to know what kind of clothes should I pack besides underwear. Coming from Hawaii, in the high 80s, wearing shorts and t-shirts are cool. Is wearing rayon, silk, or polyester too hot to wear? Give me some suggestions so I know what to pack. Mahalo to the one I chose as best and serious answer.
