I'm looking for an affordable, safe, decent neighborhood in Southern California. I know those are definitely hard to come by, but I think there may be a really nice opening in Whittier. I will be working in Commerce, so I want to be close to work but far away enough so that I don't feel like I'm in the backyard of my job. Anyway, is Whittier generally a nice, safe area? I was also looking at places in Alhambra, Monterey Park, Rosemead, Echo Park, Highland Park, and South Pasadena, but there seems to be a really good deal in Whittier. Any ideas? Are all these places ok? What about Downey, Santa Fe Springs, or Lakewood? I'm just trying to see if there are certain neighborhoods I should actively avoid.

Hey guys, this is for those of you who know Seattle/Washington really well. I'm moving there next summer, and I was curious about the weather habits. I know it rains a lot, blah blah, but I mean bad weather. Here in Texas we have tornadoes and really bad thunderstorms, etc. and I'm kind of going to miss that. What does Seattle have?

lake in 1 or 2 cabins, with fishing, water crafts etc, have teens from 19 to 22, and children 5 to 10 years old. Would like to go around Labor day weekend. I've been looking on the internet but I'm always taken to other sites and I just get crazy sitting here looking. So I was wondring if someone knows of a nice place with everything to do. Someone did mention Putin Bay but even that sight It doesn't tell me enough info, we have been to Silver Lake Dunes before and that was fun, but we would like to stay somewhere other people loved for these age kids. We live close to Detroit area. Thank You

I want to drive from LA and just realised that there are two ways, Interstate 5 and 101. I would like to drive along the beach, so it would be 101 I think. How long would it take if I take 101? And which one do you think is best to take?

My husband is going to Lower Manhattan for business, and I'll be tagging along. During the day, I'll be on my own to explore the area - can anyone offer a few "must sees, must shops, must eats" in the Lower Manhattan/Wall Street/Broadway area?

The person who keeps guests happy. I'm thinking like at a casino (like the people were on that show "Las Vegas"). What's the job title for keeping people happy and/or providing comps?

We will be driving through Southern Illinois, part of Kentucky, Tennessee, and A LOT of Georgia.
We like history, anything involving Criminal Justice and Forensics, kitschy shops, wine, cool restaurants...no chains, and pretty much anything.
We drove 3 hours out of our way to go to the Jack Daniels Distillery once and it was one of the highlights of our trip.
Please give us new fun ideas!!

has a walker/jogger friendly atmosphere where I can walk to the coffee shop, a grocery store and maybe a nice restaurant or two with my daughter in her stroller and jog without worrying about anything. I live in a neighborhood like this now and will miss it terribly if I cannot find this in SA, TX. I will most likely rent for a year before I buy since we don't know where is best for us. My hubby's family lives in SE San Antonio but nothing is close but Wal-Mart. ;-D

Help me, please, San Antonio!!!
Thanks!

My mom keeps telling me theres a lot to do but all I know that Vegas is famous for is casinos and strip clubs. By the way I'm 15. By boyfriend whos 17 is supposed to go with us but he keeps backing out because he says hes gonna be bored the whole time. Is this true?
