The person who keeps guests happy. I'm thinking like at a casino (like the people were on that show "Las Vegas"). What's the job title for keeping people happy and/or providing comps?

In Vegas, they are simply known as Casino Hosts.

They handle the comps too.

While they do believe in making every customer happy, they are concentrating on the high rollers and whales most of the time.

You are talking about the Casino Host. Their job is to cater to the casino's gamblers by setting them up with rooms, show tickets and dinner reservations as well as to make sure the casino gets their play.

And despite the myth that hosts are only for "whales," the truth is quite the contrary. There are only a handful of whales in the world but every casino has 5-10 hosts. Much of a hosts time is spent with mid-level gamblers who are the lifeblood of this town. Every casino I play at, I work with a host and I am in no way a high roller.

The level of play required to work with a host varies from place to place. The threshold at Bellagio is considerably higher than at Excalibur. The best way to find out is to ask! If you have played anywhere for a considerable amount of time (say a .25 slot for 4 hours) ask to speak with a host. At worst, they will review your play and tell you what you are entitled too. If you are Bellagio, they will politely tell you that your earned a buffet and send you to the Slot Club booth to get it. If you are at Excalibur, they will almost certainly give you their card and help you with all of your needs. They may not be able to comp your entire trip but they will at least work with you.

So as a general rule, if you play 4 hours a day in a casino, you should be talking to a host.

You might mean "concierge" who is a staff member of a hotel or apartment complex who assists guests or residents, as by handling the storage of luggage, taking and delivering messages, and making reservations for tours.
