For shows, I agree with the other posters that Circque de Soleil is the best!

The following hotels are ones that I would recommend - The Venetian (the best in everything), the Mirage (beautiful rooms, tends to be crowded), the Rio (all-suites, crazy casino atmosphere), MGM Grand (it's too big if anyone has trouble walking but has great food and is in a good location), Excalibur (soo cheesy but a great value in a great location - upgraded rooms compare to MGM Grand or Mirage), Luxor (good food, good hotel, good casino, good location and good value), Mandalay Bay (gorgeous, lovely beautiful rooms) and New York New York (good rooms and location. The Monte Carlo, Paris and Planet Hollywood are all hotels that I'd like to try. The Wynn, Bellagio and Caesars are consistently way out of my price range so while I understand they're wonderful - I'd rather be at the Venetian.
As for shows, I recommend any of the Cirque du Soleil shows, David Copperfield, Wayne Brady, Louie Anderson and I understand that La Reve at the Wynn is also good. There is also the water show at the Bellagio, the lions at the MGM Grand, the Pirate Show at TI and the White Tigers at the Mirage that are free and all worth seeing.

Hi! The Cirque du Soleil Shows are a must. Such as: Zumanity, Mystere, Ka- was ok but the show "O" is amazing. There is lots to do in Las Vegas. Tangerine is a popular night club. The hotel prices can be down right outrageous during a convention. So, shop around online and compare.

The Wynn and the Venetian are the 2 top hotels. MGM is nice. For shows you have to see a Cirque show I think KA is the best one it is at the MGM. You will not spend much time in your hotel room anyway HAVE FUN!!!

I prefer the MGM Grand. Good location for getting around and is near the airport. Monorail stops at this hotel. Casino is largest in city but easy to get around. Lots of good stores, restaurants, and things to do in the hotel.
If you like Celine Dion, go to her show. She is in her last year in Vegas and the show (at Caesar's Palace) is great.
Visit the two websites below for more info and tips.
