No. There are no train stations at all in State College. You can take Amtrak from Philly into Harrisburg and then take Greyhound from Harrisburg to State College (or you can just take Greyhound from Philly to State College - you will have to change buses in Harrisburg though)

No train goes directly to State College. Nearest stops for Amtrak are Tyrone or Huntingdon, but there is no way to get from these towns to State College, other than taxi.

As the one poster suggested, you can take Amtrak to Harrisburg and then catch the bus, or take the bus directly to State College, which is probably cheaper.

Another option is to fly, but the cost would definitely be prohibitive.

No. State College doesn't have passenger trains. PA isn't good for passenger trains - great for cargo, but not for passengers. If you need to go to State College from Philadelphia, take a bus and skip the train. Taking the train from Harrisburg and then a bus will delay your trip and cost more.

No, I don't think so. I am from Pa and I went to Penn State years ago and I never had a problem finding a ride to Allentown. Just look at the boards in the buildings and dorms or post your own. Good luck.
