We just got back - I spent the whole week never being quite temperature comfortable. Dress in layers - like a jacket or little top you can take on or off.
It was 100+ outside, but don't let that fool you. The Casino's, at least to me, were freezing inside. And you aren't outside that much.
Unless you are going to do sightseeing outside of the city, if you are staying on the strip, dress more for inside the Casino's rather than the short hop from one to the other.
And most of our daytime was by the pool. It wasn't until evening when it was a tad cooler that we were really outside a lot.
For our day-time casino hopping I wore a nice designer t-shirt and long shorts. Nothing fancy, what I would wear to shop back home in the mid-atlantic. I would get a bit warm sometimes, but we just tried to keep the outside time down to a min. Take cabs whenever you can - don't bother with the monorail.
For evening I wore skirts/capri pants with cute evening tank tops and A JACKET for inside. I also packed a spaghetti strapped cocktail dress for one evening.
Invest in comfortable shoes. We did A LOT of walking. A LOT!! Even if you are going out for a nice evening, make sure you can walk a good distance in your shoes. The Casio's themselves are huge, so even if you are walking to the one next door, it will be a good hike. I ruined my second day with sore feet from the night before and had to buy more comfortable dressy shoes at the Macy's at the mall there on the strip.
We did take a daytrip to the Mojave Desert one day - and then I wore the light colored clothing, etc. etc. etc.
Here's a tip: the tap water was gross, and bottle water was pricey. I brought with me a box of the Crystal Light singles (which was a powder so I could check) and just refilled my water bottle from tap water, added the flavoring, and it made the tap water drinkable.

I live in the Las Vegas area. My summer outfit consists of Aloha shirt, white trousers, white socks and white shoes topped by a broad-brimmed straw hat. Shorts are a danger in the desert summer. Pack loose clothing, preferably of lighter colors. Wear shoes with flat heels. It's nearly five miles from Mandalay Bay to the Sahara on the Strip. Also make close friends with that bottle of water. Otherwise the heat will make you huhu.
A long-standing performer here (Pete Barbutti) probably said it best:
"In summer in Las Vegas the sun comes up like a laser".

Wear anything light. cotton etc. dont wear anything too skimpy because you get burned really easily (i should know i live in vegas) bring sun screen especially if you are going to walk the strip or bathe by the pool. if you wear hats bring one. Polyester is good. silk or rayon i dont know. dont wear black. wear yellows, whites, all the light colors. you might want to get a personal fan ( those little ones that hang from your neck) if you plan to walk around outside.sunglasses. it is hot here it gets to be like 105 degrees on the average. also were comfortable shoes

It's usually dry in this area, but it's cold this time of year. Next weekend the forecast says 60% chance of showers on Sat and Sunday, a high of 61 degrees and low of 40 degrees (F) (which is high of 16 degrees Celsius and low of 4 degrees Celsius!!!!). So dress snow bunny. You might get a little snow at night. Have a good time anyway. It's always hot inside the dance clubs. If you're looking for a good club, try inside the MGM Grand...4 clubs there.

I just got back from there a month ago and i basically just had jeans and tank tops but i had already been there and hardley left the hotel i was in except for at night when it was cooler. choose comfy stuff that will allow you to walk the strip . you'll be in and out of casinos so bearing the heat wont be to bad unless you decide to hang out by the outdoor pool in your hotel. I wish youlots of luck and fun on your trip.

I wore really loose stuff - tank tops, capris, halters, etc. I also wore some sleeveless dresses. It is pretty hot, so you'll want to be comfortable.
