Family on vacation, truck broken into in Seattle, Washington. Elderly mothers purse taken, everything is gone, medicine,credit/debit cards, licence, pictures, check book......everything! Cellphone has GPS...can it be traced? What do they do? Have no means of communication and 2000 miles from home!

Best idea would be to contact the cell phone service provider and ask them. I don't believe they do the whole tracing thing unless it's for something like a missing person, etc. Either way you should report the cell phone lost otherwise the person that took it could be running up a huge bill and you'll be responsible for it if not reported stolen in a timely manner. Sorry to hear of your unfortunate situation - not everyone in Seattle is like that so hopefully you will visit again.

Call your server they can track its signal.
