You can go to Sawgrass Mills Mall, which is Florida's 2nd biggest tourist attraction after Disney. (Not including beaches)
It's an enormous mall with all kinds of outlet stores.
Not my cup o'tea, but it's pretty inexpensive.
You can take the water taxi and ride the whole route. It's a relatively cheap boat ride.

You can do the Sawgrass Mall, go for a nice work down Las Olas. You can go Ice Skatiing (there's a place in Sunrise, it's pretty inexpensive) Roller Blading (on US1), Beach Place (on A1A) Laser Tag (University) Go down River Walk (there's a nice little park in front of the IMAX theatre). You can also go to the Butterfly World (Sample Rd.) thats inexpensive too...
