Travel - 1 February 2007

I have won a prize, which consists of a flight. I'm pretty sure the airline will be Virgin, for whom I have a frequent flier card. Am I able to ask them at check in to put the miles for the flight onto my card, even though I haven't paid for it? Cheeky I know but you gotta try these things. Aslo if anyone has any tips or advice on upgetting an upgrade I would be grateful. I'm flying to LA on a Friday morning.

I live in Sacramento and my boyfriend and I were thinking of taking a day trip to Bodega Bay soon. I checked thew weather forecast and it looks like it'll be pretty chilly this weekend. What has the weather been like? When does it start to warm up? We would like to go fairly soon but don't want to be miserable on the beach.

Also, please no suggestion on other places we should go instead. Bodega Bay is where we would like to go. Thanks!

Well...I think you must be over 35 to answer this question! Anyhow, is America now better or worse than it used to be 20-25 years ago? Is it safer now? Is it cleaner? Wealthier?Having less corruption?

Actually, I've lived in Orange County, CA in 1984-1987, and people there have stated that it has become more crowded now.

I am looking into doing my Masters program at Hotelschool The Hague, but until they send me the brochure, I won't know much about it. Is The Hague a nice place to visit? So i'm going on an Alaska Cruise with my family in July-August time frame. I understand that on most cruise ships the drinking age is 21. Everyone except for one person is older than 21 in my party (my little brother is 20). We are from a place where the drinking age is 18+, so we're quite used to having the entire family out for social drinks. Just curious if anyone was able to bend these rules on cruise lines, primarily the Princess and/or Holland America cruise line.

A group of us (all women in our early to mid 30's) are going to Mexico in September. Where is a good area, for our age group that is all inclusive. I have been to Puerto Vallarta and the beach peddlers and time share STALKERS wore me down. Any suggestions? We all drink - a lot - so the all inclusive is the key~

I'm not in Singapore yet but considering a move to Singapore. I need some information. I'm in Software field working for a web based company in US as a project manager. I'm considering relocating to Singapore on EP along with my wife & kid. I would also like to sponsor my parents and my brother's kids (aged 10 and 4) to Singapore sometime later. Is this possible? My decision to move to Singapore depends on this. What are the laws regarding sponsoring members of your family who are not immediate members?

My husband and I are moving to the Springs end of March. We really want to move out west and feel that is a good location to start out. We are in Virginia right now an dHATE IT...
