YES! Not only does it make bostonians look like complete morons, it shows what effect Bush and his scare America into submission tactics have to done to people. Bush has people so scared of terrorism, they cannot tell the difference between a "Lightbrite" machine with a character giving you the finger and a bomb. Boston is the new laughing stock of America this week!

Not an over-reaction? OK, let's think...They were mooninites! How could those dumb little things be taken as bombs! I mean, did you actually see the "hoax bombs" it was obvious that it was a character of some sort even if you hadn't seen the show! And the fact it had been there a while without any problems, yeah some people just have NO clue.

No. All of the people who say it was an over-reaction would be the first in line to condemn the police if nothing was done and one of those things had really been an explosive device. The two morons who were arrested deserve the most severe penalty possible, and the "refugee" should be deported, AFTER he serves his jail sentence and pays his fine.

Yeah it's a pretty sad thing that anytime someone sees a box they scream bomb. I was living in Los Angeles right after 9/11 and I was getting ready to move. I had a bunch of food I didn't want to take to my new house so I boxed it up and wrote free food on it in english and spanish. About midnight the bomb squad knocked on my door and wanted to evacuate me for a suspicious package in the laundry room. It was so embarassing. I went down and opened the box and the police were about ready to have a heart attack.

It is just the places they were set. I mean if you see something electrical dangling from a bridge, won't you be scared? Calling the bomb squad was not overreacting.
But I don't think those guys should have been arrested the next day..that was overreacting. TBS should be at fault not the innocent men that placed the "whatever" for them.

it IS pretty sad that our world has come to this - that that type of reaction was provoked by a small little cartoon box - but the reality is, they didn't overreact...better to be safe than sorry! if they have not treated it like that, and it was some sort of terrorist act - what would people be saying then?

It was advertising! Ofcourse they over-reacted! Come on, does anyone freak out and call the police over a Regis & Kelly ad? They should...but they don't!

Yes, i think they're over reacting. I understand that it may have been suspicious and maybe calling the police isn't over reacting but afterwards they're mad. They're the ones who said it was a threat but it was harmless so why should they be so upset it was their mistake.
