I am looking into doing my Masters program at Hotelschool The Hague, but until they send me the brochure, I won't know much about it. Is The Hague a nice place to visit? Is the Hotelschool as good as the website makes it sound? I would be there for a year, so are apartments expensive? And how far away are other towns like Amsterdam?

My sister went to their Open House last year. She was looking into a Bachelor program. She said it was full of guys in their twenties (which intimidated her as she was 16 at the time) and rather expensive. I don't know how the Masters program is set up, but the Bachelor is (compared to other Dutch institutions for higher education) pretty expensive. You have to buy a specific kind of knife set and other cooking equipment, she had to have a laptop, she had to pay for the trips in one installment instead of in terms, and also, naturally, buy books. She had to live in the apartments they provided. The apartments themselves were reasonably priced, realtively speaking.

Again, this is from her experience with the Bachelors program - the Master might be entirely different for all I know. It IS a very well-known school with a great reputation, but she said it was nothing like she expected and went on to do a Tourism and Recreations program at a different school. But that was her opinion.

The Hague is certainly not a bad place to visit. The Dutch government resides there and there are some nice things, and some not-so-nice things, just like any other city you will come across, but with more bikes! It's about an hour from Amsterdam by train, 45 minutes from Utrecht and a half an hour from Rotterdam. The public transportation system is pretty good: a bus, train or tram will take you quite far. :)

Sorry, do not know about the hotelschool. It seems to be expensive. I could not find English pages which showed the experiences of students. I found a Dutch one which said is has a crowded program and is a good school.
The Hague is not my favorite city, which is Amsterdam, but it has enough to enjoy yourself.
Public Transport in and around The Hague is good. It is 45 minutes by train from Amsterdam and 20 minutes form Rotterdam. It has a lively nightlife and the town is worth seeing. The houses of Parliament are a good touristic trip.
