You're not asking for much are you? You do realize that the vacancy rate in Edmonton is hovering around the 1% mark. Finding a "short term" rental is going to be difficult though maybe not impossible. Most university students are done for the year at the end of March or April. You may be able to sublet an apartment from one of the students especially if they want to try and keep it but need to go home for the summer. I'm thinking you might want to put an ad or notice (by emailing) at the U of A Student Housing. The address is on their website. www.ualberta.ca.
You could also start by checking the local newspapers:

www.edmontonjournal.com
www.edmontonsun.com
www.edmontonexaminer.com ( this is a weekly paper)

From there you go to sites which deal in Edmonton rentals - here are a few of them:

http://www.sublet.com/area_rentals/canad...

http://www.edmonton.rentfaster.ca/renter...

www.kijiji.ca and then find the one for Edmonton - you can also post a Want Ad here for free - replies are by email.

www.craigslist.org then find the listing for Edmonton - you can also post a Want Ad here for free. - replies by email.

www.usededmonton.com here you can also put in a Free Want Ad or look for one. Replies by email.

You do realize that this "short term" may end up being long term if you haven't done your homework on the housing market. Housing prices have gone up topsy turvey over the last couple of years. The price of an entry level starter home is now close to the $300,000 mark (128,900 British pounds) You should also try looking in the "Edmonton" Answers for a post recently on "Safe Places to live in Edmonton" - hopefully you can still find it.

Central locations are best with Downtown Edmonton (check the safe places to live) and in and around the Whyte Ave/University for being the most convenient and central for your search. The transit system from both these locals is pretty good - you can get almost anywhere in the city from either of these locaions. There is a transit map/schedule at:
www.edmonton.ca - go to Transit.

Hopefully these are of some help to you. Worst case senerio and you need a reasonable place to stay before finding an apartment you could try : www.hostelling.com - there is a pretty good hostel in the Whyte Ave area - would work in the interm.

If you need an inexpensive mode of travel from the int'l airport - try the Sky Shuttle service - bus to most major hotels at approx. $12.00 per person one way.

Good Luck.

Web Site
www.bestplacetolive.com
Has a lot of rental properties of all sizes and types. I suggest you stay downtown or near the university area, both are central to everything and will give you a good starting point.

Good Luck on your journey.

Rental portal makes easy to find a perfect house within your budget. There are many advanced search features available at these portals which helps you to find a property which suits your need. Edmonton.rentfaster.ca is one such type of rental portal that allows renters to find property of their choice in Edmonton.

Wht the hell is wrong with you...why would you want to move here?
I live in edmonton....originally form windsor ontario..and I would have rather gone to British Columbia...way prettier.
Edmonotn kinda sucks and the house prices are insane...so are rents...and the oil thing here isnt going to last forever.

You are probably going to find it hard to rent short term with the huge rental shortage going on right now.
Good Luck!
