Is this a problem in your opinion?? Any ideas on how MLB or anyone for that matter could help to increase the baseball culture in the US?

again this year? You know, he supposedly broke his wrist during the winter while supposedly playing with his kids. It's quite troubling to hear that he has to yet to appear in a game this spring. Seems like an ominous sign to me.

Here is a link to an old web page that shows some popular myths about the rules. For the experienced umpires out there, besides No. 10 (uncaught third strike rule which has been changed) are any of these incorrect?

As many of you know, I'm a die hard Mets fan. I gotta say, I'm a bit worried. I still love the lineup, and I still think the bullpen is good. Do you guys think John Maine, Oliver Perez and Mike Pelfrey, if not (Jason Vargas, Jorge Sosa, Philip Humber, Chan Ho Park, Aaron Sele) can carry the Mets to another division title? I have all the confidence that the Mets can repeat as NL East and even NLand World Series champs, but what do you think?

he stated that he wants to be a Yankee for the rest of his career and excercised the option in his contract(right now) to stay a Yankee.

Also, does anyone know, how many more years will he be under contract if he excercises this option? Or is this an option that he has after the end of every season left in the contract?

I thought the Angels were going to contend but this Gary Matthews thing might be too much of a distraction. Plus neither the Rangers or Mariners looked like they improved this year.

I mean if you're Tampa Bay, Baltimore or Toronto, you're pretty much looking at another losing season when you're in the same divisions as the money-rich Yankees and Red Sox.

Clearly, the MLB needs to get rid of the guy they have right now. Thankfully he's not a Bettman or a Stern, but he's no Tagliabue, either. There was talk at one point of trying to elevate an ex-president to the ranks of baseball commissioner. I don't think that's a bad idea. Given his background as a baseball executive (with the Texas Rangers), would George W. Bush be a candidate for you? If not, who should be the next commissioner and where should they come from: the sport, government or the business world?

dont say b/c it just is. If i hear at least 15 GOOD/REAL ANSWERS, i will admit that baseball is actually a sport that should be played. Not yet has one of the people i know in person given me a good answer. P.S. "It just is" does not count as an answer, it just proves that u cant answer a simple question.

Every year the Yankee fans, and owner, think the Yankees will win it all. Besides being disappointed in the end if it doesn't happen, the fans really are some of the best in the game. They are usually very optomistic, and know the players well. So my question is looking at the dark side, and wondering what will cause them to lose. Will it be injury, bad performance, better performance by another team, bad managing, bad trades, A-Rod's playoff woes, whatever. I'm just curious if the Bronx faithful will indulge me on this one. And just so you know, I'm an Astros fan so I've got a long list why my team won't. Not that I'm counting them out. I just see Yankee fans everywhere I go.

By the way the player doesn't get to pick the team they want to represent anymore. Who do you think Roger would pick if it was up to him?
