Thats not even close!! Matsui is a Feared hitter, especially in tight spots... JD Drew? god, if i were Matsui and heard that comparison ild be insulted. JD Drew?!!! I mean, You actually Pitch around Hideki in Certain Spots... when will you ever pitch around Drew? More consistent power, a better average hitter, MUCH more Productive... not even close. ask the Red Sox about Matsui.

Hideki Matsui hands down

JD Drew gets hurt every year and he's definitely not as good a hitter as Matsui... Matsui's lifetime average is 13 points higher than Drew and Hideki will drive in more runs and score more runs because the Yanks lineup is better than Boston

Mike s, why would i be tempted to give jd the edge when he has never had over 300 total base in his 9 yr career and matsui has done it twice in his 4 yr career?

jd is a looker that passes the buck to the next batter, while matsui is a doer that thrives in rbi situations

I think Matsui is better than Drew. Matsui is very dependable compared to Drew, since Drew gets hurt often. Matsui is a better outfielder and hitter than Drew as well.

You might be tempted to give Drew a slight edge, except for the fact that you can count on Drew to be injured sometime during the season while Matsui hardly misses games.

Matsui, as the Red Sox will find out later in the year. Drew is one of the most overrated players in baseball history. He is injury prone, and the next season he plays in 150 games will be his first!

Per at bat, Drew is better, but due to Drew's lack of durability, Matsui winds up as the better player.
