I mean usually people want facts, quotes, references. Just give me an example of an argument where opinion counts??

For example, I was reading somewhere that there was no census taken during Cyrenius's reign as governor and even if there were, it was not customary to go to your ancestors' birthtown to register. Also, if Herod did in fact kill off every newborn baby boy, why is there no record of it when that would be a huge drop in the population and would be fairly newsworthy? Just to name a couple examples.

One of the last commands Jesus gave his disciples before ascending into heaven was to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20)

Every day I see someone post a question on this page as to why Atheists show up here... as if Christians DON'T want them here.

Do we not realize that these people are the very ones that Christ was commanding his followers to minister to?

Do we not realize that by asking them why they are here, we are in essence saying that we don't want them here--and in turn are shooting ourselves in the foot at following one of Christ's most important commands?

Do we not realize that this attitude among Christianity is exactly what fuels its opposition, and that we are only propagating the beliefs of others about our faith?

When will you stop rejecting, and start doing what Christ commanded of you?

--"Even a stubborn fool is thought to be wise if he keeps silent. He is considered intelligent if he keeps his lips sealed."

What does this mean to you?

Has anyone heard the famous quote by Ben Franklin, "It is better for you to keep silent and have people think you're stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."?

Any parallels?

Explain.

"While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was discovered gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Those who caught him at it brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly. But they kept him in custody, for there was no clear decision as to what should be done with him.

Then the Lord said to Moses, "This man shall be put to death; let the whole community stone him outside the camp."

So the whole community led him outside the camp and stoned him to death as the Lord had commanded Moses." Numbers 15:32-36 NAB

Do you tend to vote for the person who has religious views that are closest to yours or does that not matter that much to you? Or do you vote against someone because of their religion?

Ok, so a few of my friends enjoy saying that all atheists are really saying they know everything if they say God does not exist. Usualyy I just tell them that Athiests just have "faith" that God does not exist. But what is a better more intelligent way to answer this statement?

This question is open to Christians or non Christians and folks who are not quite sure. In fact anybody.

The Bible says that Jesus rose from the dead, which I believe to be true.

But, we read he said to Mary who saw him at the grave side "Do not clink to me, for I have not yet accended to my Father."

Then later we read that He told duobting Thomas to put his hand in His side and to examine His hands, then Thomas fell at Jesus's feet beheld Him and worshipped Him. Saying my Lord and my God.

Therefore, is it likely that Jesus first went up to Heaven to His Father God then came back down again.

Before going back up to Heaven to be at the right hand side of God His Father.

Because Jesus throught His ministry always let his deciples and followers embrace Him and kiss Him, whether they were men or woman and I am sure children too for that matter.

And he loved Mary very much, enough to die for her, which he did on the cross or tree if you prefer.

The battle between good and evil is supposed to happen at the end of the world. I think the bible says the evil will take over, but God will descend from the Heavens and save us all? or something like that.

This sounds really pessimisstic, but who else thinks that armageddon isn't to far off? I mean, look at our world. It's filthy. There's violence and rape and parents turning from their children and children turning from their parents. I mean sure, maybe those things ALWAYS happened, but it seems like people are learning evil at a younger and younger age. Sometimes I think that the only thing keeping the world together is the innocence that children have.

Does anyone agree with me? or am I just one of those raving lunatics that you see on the streets, screaming about the end of the world?

Oh, btw. Athiests, Buddhists, Christians, Catholics, Jews...whatever you are, you're welcome to answer.

I don't go to church and I'm suppose to be Catholic. Ever since the molestations I've stayed away and am quite disgusted. I sometimes wonder if there really is a god. I've read stories where things (miracles) happen, and how people meet up, like adopted siblings working together and not knowing, it kind of makes me think that there really is a god. Has anyone had any experience that made you a true believer? I really want to believe, but at the same time it's really hard for me.

Rearing children is difficult and complicated and requires careful attention and deligence. So it is common for parents to feel at a loss when it comes to child rearing. Many feel the need for help. Obviously, every loving parent wants to get the best guidance. Where can such guidance be found?

I stayed up till 1 o'clock am and go to sleep. Beforehand I had a little dark chocolate I haven't had in awhile. It felt like I slept for hours then I hear my jimmy buffet playing (helps me sleep) sound becomes infrared. Then I hear a syphoning sound for one minute, I prayed like "God jesus whats going on, help me, please O'god!" And it went away, I have been closer to my faith lately, reading the bible, praying, you know. I am a prodastant.
