It is a good school, and I'm applying to go there for grad study. I'm gettin my PhD in psychology.

EDIT: His avatar's name means he works at the post office, not that he's crazy! Well, he's a college grad working at the post office, so a little crazy...lol.

That was uncalled for. blocked.

Yes, it is an excellent school! (BYU is number one in the nation [Marriot School of Business according to Princeton Review]. I am currently attending BYU, and it is gosh, amazing. I've had so much fun here, and being surrounded by students that have the same standards as me is an amazing feeling. Everyone is so friendly, and the professors are awesome! The campus is very beautiful as well.

There is a great learning atmosphere as far as academics go. There is always help to be offered if needed in a class, as the teachers are always approachable and friendly about it. There are Teacher's Assistants that conduct labs for classes and are always willing to help you with your difficulties in classes.

There is also an amazing spiritual sense that surrounds BYU. Every Tuesday at 11 am, there is a BYU Devotional where someone comes and speaks to whoever comes. Recently we have had President Gordon B. Hinkley (President and Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), Elder L. Tom Perry, President (of BYU) and Sister Samuelson (his wife), and Chief Justice John Roberts just to name a few.

There is an Honor Code that is in place at BYU, but it isn't much of a restricting thing as it is protective of the rules of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Examples include modesty, piercings, baggy clothing--extreme hairstyles, etc.

I'd recommend that if you want to come to BYU, you should at least try and apply, as that's what I did, and I was able to get in.

It's a good school, and I live about 15 minutes away, but I have NO desire to go there. I'm LDS, but so is my entire high school of 2,000 students and every single one of them have an celestial dream to go to "The Lord's School". It's kind of pathetic in a way . . . it's almost like you'll go to hell if you don't go there! I can handle a few self-righteous Mormons, but once you bunch a couple thousand together in a small space I think I might rip my hair out. I've decided to go to the University of Utah instead. It's the only school in Utah that has the major I want to major in. But hey . . . choose for yourself! :D

As a BYU Alumnus, I certainly cast my vote in favor of BYU being a very fine school and a desired place to go for an education. They are one of the cheapest private universities in America and are regularly listed as one of the top schools for dollar per value, or bang for your buck.
That said, it also requires its students to adhere to a strict code of conduct agreeable to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thus, it is always listed as the driest (no alcohol) school in America and one of the most religious. They are always competitive in sports and have one of the finest business schools in America. It is also the top language school in America and the top ballroom dance school in America. Their science, math and computer schools receive good marks and their education school is always rated very high. They get low marks for fine arts because they refuse to do nudes. Nothing wrong with that in my book but the world of fine art seems to think nudes are necessary. In music, drama and movie theater, they rate very high.
For me, growing up in So. Cal., going to Utah was a breath of fresh air. I felt relaxed and comfortable the entire time I was there. I still feel like I'm going home whenever I drive into the valley. I love it and wouldn't trade that experience for anything else.

My aunt thought it was a great school when she went there. I'm not Mormon so I have no desire to attend.

That's a school where 99% are Mormon. Well if you are planning on getting drunk of laid, that's not the place to go. The holy rollers have to sign a paper saying they won't have sex until they are married. i should know, I work for a Mormon.

Religion just teaches you wrong. If you want to go to the best school in the world Go to Jesus. You will learn more in silent prayer in one half hour with Jesus than you will learn all your life in some religious entity

No. It teaches the false religion of mormonism, which distorts the image of who Christ really is. Being that you are a male, your risk is high of living out your avatar's name- LDS males have a very high suicide rate- due to the confusion in their doctrine. That school is bad news to those who want to know the true Jesus. The Jesus they teach is not the one in the Bible.

It's a good university, in fact, but no, I wouldn't want to attend there.

Now, all those dark-haired girls of south of France descent attending LSU, mmmmm.
