Um both, but salivation and salvation are two very different things unless your talking about food for the soul, the Word of God...
God bless.

Well, some people are just born dribblers, and salivate all their lives. If you're thinking of salvation, I wouldn't hold your breath, or live in hope, or expectation. Just get on with every instant of your life, with your mind in gear. It's the best we can do, but most don't even try.

Being saved happens the instant you ask God for it. You only have to ask, in earnest, to be forgiven for your sins, and to have God come into your life and save you.
The point is, you are supposed to turn your life over to God at that time. Go to church, read your Bible, have fellowship with other believers. Live your life in the way you believe God would approve of. In that sense, it's life-long. However, if you were to be saved today, then die tomorrow, your soul will go to Heaven. If you aren't saved, it will not.
Choose salvation. It is the best gift you can receive, and it's absolutely free! To find out more, visit a local church of your choice.

well if your talking about salvation it is both, We can also talk about it being for past, present, and future; I have been saved 1 Col. 6:11, I am being saved 1 Thess. 5:23 and I will be saved 1 Cor. 15: 40-54.

Assuming that your earthly existence ends with your soul in a charitable state of grace, and Jesus confirms your suitability for heaven, salvation is instant and forever.
Otherwise, at least while still living here on earth, salvation is a matter of continuing and blessed hope in Jesus and his church.

Salvation is instant the moment you recieve it by faith in the Savior, Jesus. "Those who believe will not be condemned, but HAVE PASSED from death to life."
Jesus said "All who come to me I will in no wise cast out."
True salvation in instant and eternal. Sanctification is a process- the discipline of God's true children in Christ Jesus.

doesn't it say "to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"
I'd say you can't be saved from something till the time of the destruction.
but when you accept Jesus you become "born again" new start, do over, new life in Christ.
