The battle between good and evil is supposed to happen at the end of the world. I think the bible says the evil will take over, but God will descend from the Heavens and save us all? or something like that.
This sounds really pessimisstic, but who else thinks that armageddon isn't to far off? I mean, look at our world. It's filthy. There's violence and rape and parents turning from their children and children turning from their parents. I mean sure, maybe those things ALWAYS happened, but it seems like people are learning evil at a younger and younger age. Sometimes I think that the only thing keeping the world together is the innocence that children have.
Does anyone agree with me? or am I just one of those raving lunatics that you see on the streets, screaming about the end of the world?
Oh, btw. Athiests, Buddhists, Christians, Catholics, Jews...whatever you are, you're welcome to answer.

Its still far off. Armageddon implies that the world has degraded into such conditions that it wouldnt be safe to be a Christian ANYWHERE. That is how bad the persecution is going to get. It says that God has to cut those days short for the sake of the elect.
Look to see freedom in western civilization as we know it die first in order for such things come to pass and possibly a world govt that is intolerable of Christianity.

I am expecting the return of Christ at any time now as Matthew Ch.24 seems to speak of this age in which we live. After the rapture, there will be 7 years of unbelievable tribulation on the earth and at the end of the 7 years will be the 1000 year reign of Christ and peace for that time however, at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ will come the battle of Armageddon, so we have a little time left before the last great battle.

Not me. The Bible also has many passages that say the world is constant and unshakable. Today may seem bad, but look back to the Dark Ages and time of the crusades and it was just as bad. Just 200 yrs ago, buying and selling people as slaves was considered perfectly okay. I see way more progress than problems these days. The only influence for evil I see is from the religious types. They are always fighting and causing wars and suffering trying to prove their point. So eventually people will turn back to God and abandon religion, and then the world will get back to normal again.

Your observations, besides the fact that to no longer be taken too gently, are somewhat overstated. I agree that recently we human beings seem to be employing and abusing this planet with out too lots subject for ecology, and conservation, and so on., yet there is no ought to pass all morbid and forecast finished annihilation although. I do have self assurance interior the resiliency of the human spirit. I do have self assurance interior the reality that god has given us a strategies to think of. besides the fact that it may look at circumstances that we don't use the strategies yet while it includes survival, guy is an exceedingly speedy learner. that is in no way too previous due. i've got faith that guy's survival instincts will see us by way of those so referred to as worldwide warmings, and the might-be annihilation's. Its no longer all that undesirable. surely no the place close to the state of affairs which you have chosen to settle for besides. i'm specific that someplace alongside our close to destiny, we can locate new suggestions to what could look like our doom. We consistently have achieved this interior the previous, and that i'm specific we can proceed to realize this interior the destiny. you only could have faith in your self and different fellow human beings around you, to do the spectacular subject at last. save the religion, my pal.

Planet earth is not going to physically end any time soon. However, we are in for some very rough times as we move from seeing ourselves and functioning as nations to seeing ourselves and functioning as a planet. Such a paradigm shift is the proverbial new heaven and new earth and is inevitable. There is great cause for hope. Humanity has made it through every previous paradigm shift from conceiving itself as basically tribal, to village, to city, to city-state, to empire, and to nation. None of these were easy or peaceful transitions, but humanity did succeed, as it will again. Allying ourselves with people and organizations who are working to establish the oneness of humanity and who are erecting the institutions to support the oneness of humanity can make the transitions easier for us and our children individually and collectively.

The problem is that for thousands of years they have been saying, "Any day now". The new cataclysmic date is now 12/12/12 and on 12/13/12 they will come up with a new date and start all over again. It's getting so worn out that they were using it in a car commercial.

Only if the religionists or the polluters get their way.
And Earth will probably out-survive us.
Would you have been equally concerned during the last ice age? Or if you had lived through the WW2 holocaust?

good vs evil, eh?
isn't that how all wars are promulgated and even justified?
revelations is just war propaganda. like all wars, recruiters use the cause of taking the moral high road to gain soldiers.
the truth is, there will never be a war regarding good vs evil as they are intangible ideas which manifest themselves in humans only partially and ultimately balance themselves out.
if you want good vs. evil, go watch Heroes.
reality isn't that dramatic.
