Before any of you start going off on me about this question, let me explain.

I was down at Caser's Palace wondering around when I found a Hindu or Buddhist shrine. Seem like MGM went out of there way to please their Asian customer from importing it from Bangkok, Thailand.

Anyway, I was talking to some man there while I was burning incense for the shrine.

I was talking about religion with him and he said that Christianity was like an occultic practice.

However, I don't know what to think about that.

So what do you think he meant by that?

I apologize if I had offended anyone, but my personal observation has lead me to realize how corrupt western religions (namely Christianity) are. For instance, many important books have been removed from the Bible (such as the Book of Nicaea, which actually supports reincarnation, contrary to the current Heaven-Hell concept). There has been numerous scientific study by a man known as Dr. Ian Stevenson that presents a very strong case for reincarnation. But why was it removed from the Bible?

Anthropologists suggest that viewing homosexuality as a negative was actually added into the Bible by a King/Emperor of the Anglo-Saxon region. This ruler personally did not like being in such an environment. Homosexuality occurs in ALL species of animals, why should humans be the only exception?

And seriously, why is it so morally “corrupt” to avoid marriage? You can present the case of STDS, but in reality they have only been a recent disturbance. You don’t see any other species of animals marrying one another. And it would be egotistical of anyone to make the distinction that “humans are superior.”

Agree or disagree?

I hope this isn't offensive to anyone....If it is, it isn't intended. Sorry.

Many of my friends are Catholic and I plan on converting to Catholic. I want to be Baptist, but I don't know what to do!!! I want to be religious, but I don't know what to do since I don't know what to teach myself and do.

I Believe it is Rome and the Roman Catholic Church, no offense if you are Catholic. I do not want to offend anyone, but it is in your Bible.

1. A City: A city that sits on people, mutitudes, nations and tongues
2. Arrayed in Purple & Red= Two ruling Parties in the Catholic Church. The Bishops & Arch-Bishops wear purple and Cardinals wear Red!
3. The city of seven Hills= Rome, A city of Seven Hills!
4. Daughters split off from the Roman Catholic Church!
5. Woman drunken with the blood of the saints, historically millions killed by the vatican.
6. Golden Cup in her hand. Did you all see when the last pope was voted into office? They were adorned in gold all around their necks and in their hands!

I am confused can someone BE a Catholic but not believe in the Trinity?!

I asked her if she believed that Jesus was god, and that he and god the father are one. She said: No Jesus was the son of god but was not god himself.

What denomination is a Catholic like belief that does not believe in the Trinity?

What denomination is a Protestant belief that does not believe in the Trinity?

What (besides JW and Mormon) is ANY Christians belief that does not believe in the Trinity?!

Prof: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Prof: Is God good?
Student: Sure.
Prof: Is God all-powerful?
Student: Yes.
Prof: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn't.How is this God good then? Hmm?

(Student is silent.)

Prof: You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, Is God good

Student: Yes.

Prof: Is Satan good?
Student: No.

Prof: Where does Satan come from?
Student: From...God...

Prof: That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student: Yes.

Prof: Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything.
Correct?
Student: Yes.
Prof: So who created evil?
Student does not answer.

Prof: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these
terrible things exist in the world, don't they?
Student: Yes, sir.

Prof: So, who created them?

Student has no answer.

I was looking at a question asked by someone earlier and she mentioned the "Burning Times". I ask, how many of you still believe that 9 million "witches" were "burned at the stake"? Why?

This is a myth. Many people have been killed because of religious prosecution, but the number of nine million is pure fancy.

No witches were burned at Salem either. They were hanged.

Please, if you're going to convert to a religion and claim a history, do some research.

For those of you who already knew this, why do you think so many people still hang on to the myth of "nine million witches burned"?

This one is the latest - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Apsg9C_w9qA4A9g4VjnMesPd7BR.;_ylv=3?qid=20071102174133AAsQamf

It appears that everyone who calls themself Atheist, at least here in R&S, were at one point believers. I find this curious to say the least. I can honestly say that I have never, ever in my life had a religious thought.

My parents were one of each, Methodist and Catholic, but being British it was not part of our lives particularly. I sang in choir and all that usual stuff, but I never believed in god, at all ever.

I specifically recall as a very young child thinking how daft it sounded to think that an invisible person was watching me at all times. (as a kid it was obviously a lot simpler).

I completely understand how a person can come from belief into reality, but I have yet to find anyone who never had the belief in the first place.

Tell me I am not alone!!!

I imagine that God wanted us to remain separated on Earth but integrated in Heaven. On Earth, other races can harm each other and live in hatred yet in heaven we will have no need to separate as there would be no sin. On Earth, many races living in the same area cause crime and war yet in heaven we will be hand in hand.
