How do my fellow bible believing friends feel about death and how can I make it easier to accept? I love God, but I also love my life, my children, and family. I think it really sucks that we have to go threw the transformation of death. I wish we could communicate with those who have passed. I know the lord has a plan for our eternal salvation but Im scared to die and see others go. I just wish death was easier for us but even Jesus wept when nazareth died so obviously its hard for any sane God loving person to encounter death. I just need inspiration I guess.

When Jesus was here on earth... if he would have turned out to be gay...

Would God had sent him to hell, if he still performed miracles and did everything else exactly as it is worded??

Can we stop judging?

This is my challenge. For the next 72 hours, when you look at, or talk to someone, see them as a person whom Jesus Christ loves and respond to them accordingly.

I don't care who they are...homosexual, drug addict, criminal, bum on the street...even that member of the family who is a pain to everyone else...

At the end of 72 hours, I'm going to ask you to report here, and tell me what, if anything, you have learned; that is, provided you are up for the challenge.

Thank you, Sawyer, for planting the seed for this idea.

So are you up for it?

People make an argument based on specific verses of the bible. I started a question asking if homosexuality is a choice or a biological 'disorder', and there were a few responses quoted the bible, claiming it must be a choice.

However, do these people practice what they preach?? or are they simply hypocrites? Let me quote some verses from the bible.

'You must not wear clothing woven part of wool, part of linen.' [Deuteronomy 22:11]

'She (a rape victim) must marry the rapist, because he has violated her. And so long as he lives, he may not divorce her.' [Deuteronomy 22:29]

'...the dead man's wife must not marry a stranger outside the family. Her husband's brother must fulfill the duty of a brother and marry the dead man's wife.' [Deuteronomy 25:5]

'Do not cut off the hair on the sides of your head.' [Leviticus 19:27]

'Do not trim the edges of your beard.' [Leviticus 19:27]

Unless you follow the practices I mentioned, how do you justify quoting parts and ignoring these?

it seems no one can ever give me a straight answer. they say,"ITS THE DEVEL'S WORK!!" but how is it wrong? I don't think it is wrong because its the devel's work, but i think it's bad because, if used unsafley,it makes broken homes. But how is sex before marriage linked to the devel?

Jason David BeDuhn, Ph.D. A historian of religion and culture states: “While it is difficult to quantify this sort of analysis, it can be said the NW[T] emerges as the most accurate of the translations compared.”

So a PHD in history and religion said that the NWT is the most accurate translation of the original manuscripts to date. Look it up on google.

One example: The unique, personal name of God, the Tetragrammaton ("YHWH or JHVH"), is found in Masoretic versions of the Old Testament 6,828 times. MOST ENGLISH translations of the Old Testament follow the standard convention of rendering the Tetragrammaton as "the LORD". The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT) differs significantly here from most other English Bibles by consistently rendering the Hebrew Tetragrammaton (divine name) as "Jehovah" in 6,827 instances. In the new testament 146 times. A total of 6973 times.

That is just one example. Others are in John 1:1; Word was a god.

have you noticed this sort of underlying rivalry on yahoo answers? it's like a 3:1 ratio of atheists to christians who answer the religious questions. The thumbs up and down have the same ratio. Why do atheists complain about god preachers when they push their views across in a "i know everything" attitude.

FYI-I am an atheist.

Christians follow the Bible because those are the teachings of the Lord and Jesus. But what if Jesus came back and told you to commit a sin like adultery or another sin there is? Would you do it since he is the one to say commit it?

And no, this is not the Antichrist.

Sure, if somebody doesn't believe in god, they don't go to heaven to be with him/her. So, what is the purpose of sending them to a place where they suffer for all eternity? An omnibenevolent being would think this is wrong and unnecessary, i think.

Every thing I read in Torah there is always an underlaying teaching. Now the story of Bilah after Rachel died and the actions that took place are really pulling at me but it is not surfacing. Can anyone tell me what they see when they read about Bilhah.

When I read about Bilhah after Rachel died I had this gut feeling like something very bad took place but I am not making the association. What can be said about the invasion of privacy to Jacob by Reuben?

Why cant I love anyone ? I am having such a personal struggle. I feel love for humans drain away from my heart and then my heart fills up again with love for Jesus. It feels as if my heart cant love Jesus and a man at the same tyme. Why does this love empty me of love for men and make me want to love Jesus even more than ever. I feel married to Him and not capable of marrying a man.
