Hmm - so many things they did for us - good and bad. I think the best and most influential thing they did - both parents of the 40s and 50s, and parents of the 60s- was to teach us to not just accept things at face value. To question our leadership, our media, our advertising, even our religions.
Sadly, this message has been lost for many, but it stuck with enough to make a difference.

Since I'm a Boomer, the generation before me was the Sandwich Generation. They were called this because most of them were caught between taking care of their parents and their children at the same time.
They overcame the Depression and WW II for us and passed on to us a world where the US was the greatest nation on the planet.

In America, it was the push for tolerance and equality for minorities, women, homosexuals, the disabled, etc. What a difference that has made. I feel very grateful to my mother's generation.
Thank you Baby Boomers. You guys rock!
