im sorry
please everyone try&understand that this question is in no way meant to offend anyone!
in fact, honestly,i do feel ashamed for even thinking this way
but i suppose its the human in me,or the devil in me
anyway, ive wondered this for a long time

every time any person suffers all the religious people
remind that person of how jesus suffered

(i cant even believe im saying this) dont ANY of you think that a lifetime of suffering and not even feeling Gods love is worse than suffering for a few days and KNOWING for sure that God loves you, also,JESUS was healthy in mind and body and that also affects ones thinking and strength..

im sorry,i just dont think its fair to compare,in fact what JESUS went through seems alot less than what alot of others go through
im not talking about myself either,im talking about many many people,
im not dismissing what JESUS did for us (even though,i still dont get it)i just dont think its right of others to dismiss others sufferings wi

Why are a lot of religions like Christianity run by fear?

God will punish you.

I read that in the middle ages the pope ordered that all Catholics in possession of encyclopaedias should burn them or face excommunication from the church.

Does anyone know which Pope this is referring to?

Does this not seem just a bit too radical?

Let me start by saying I am going to ask a couple questions about catholicism tonight. They are in no way meant as attacks. I am just curious about a couple things.

I know you guys pray to various saints. I also know that to you it is the same as asking a friend to pray for you. I am not condemning this, however it did lead me to two questions. If you could answer I would appreciate it.

1) Is there somewhere in the Bible that says people in Heaven can hear you? I always figured once you got to Heaven you were not concerned with Earth anymore.

2) When you pray to a saint for a need do you then pray to God as well? If I ask a friend here to pray for me I then go and pray to God myself too. Do you do this or do you just leave it in the saints hands?

I would love some opinions of Christians on this subject.
Husband and I have been married 8 yrs. He loves me and always tells me how attarcative I am.
A few years ago he watched porn probably 6 out of 7 nights. We rarealy had any sexual contact. We have since talked about it and I agreeed to give our intimate life more attention.
Husband went to a seminar for Christian men and it was about porn.
Our sex life has been pretty good, we try for 4 out of seven times a week. Of course life gets in the way and it doesn't always work but its pretty good.
Tonight he told me that I am not doing my job as well as I need to and that he has watched porn on the computer and pleasured himself. He said that it is about once every 2 months.
I am upset and feel betrayed by this. He doesn't see it as a big deal but I feel hurt and upset, as though I am not good enough.
We are going to talk tonight...any ideas?
Blessings

The misuse of Scripture does not help credibility for one may encounter those knowledgeable in Scriptures like those encountered by St. Paul and St. Silas in Acts 17:11. When one practices this kind of deception it makes them appear as a demagogue instead of ........http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-S6YMuFYyaa9ESBoW5DFwEjL_HhqA?p=127

ive been very sich for 11 months now in need of surgery, dont have insurance and cant get it cos they consider it preexisting cos another doc hurt me,the lawyers wont help until after the surgery and the docs want all cash upfront, and the er wont help as i wont die tomorrow, all i want is for my physical health to be restored so i can have the strenght to fix other things,
after 11 months of being in pain(even contacted senator)

As I've always been told the anti-Christ is a guy who will make peace throughout the world, possibly soon enough sinse there is so much crup going on today. However, he will claim to be a promised messiah, someone both Jews and Christians are waiting for. Accept that for jews he will be coming for the first time, and for Christians a second time. However, he will be a false messiah and so will dicieve a lot of Christians and people in general. Those who will reject him will be thrown into prison or beheaded. So, here is my problem. I am going to a Charismatic church where the pastor keeps on talking about the soon coming king, and how we all should unite and prepare for his coming, and how there will be a kingdom of heaven and all that. I'm scarred of the fact that the charismatics might confuse the anti-christ, the false messiah with the real Jesus Christ. My mom is Baptist and she says that there WONT be any soon coming Kingdom on Earth, but rather Jesus will take his church!

I don't know what to say to my son when he asks about God. I'm athiest and was taught by my parents that there is no god. Both of my parents came from large Catholic families.

In his latter years, my Dad became sort of psuedo religious. He didn't attend church but started to preach a little about how certain things weren't good because they were sins. He became the chaplain at his VFW and visited alot of vets on their death beds.

I'm confused about what to tell my son. I feel like I shouldn't rob him of something that if he doesn't grasp now, he'll miss out on the ability to do so later (like me). I don't want to lie to him and tell him things I don't believe are true, like I'm doing. I told him that Grandpa is in heaven, when I think that he's really just worm-dirt.

I am definitely not about to have a religious transformation, but I wonder what to say when these questions come up. He's 6 and they come up alot.

I have a ''Saints'' prodject due and i chose St.Jessica because Jessica is my name and her feast day is the month of my Birthday also i know that she was one of the 3 women who found Jesus's tomb, so would you consider that a ''big deal''??

Also i'm looking for some kind of painting of her, if you see one thanx that really is lots of help and that would be great. But if you cant find one or if there was never any painting of her then you can just try to describe how you think she probably look.
