I used to do a snow dance when I was younger.....but that wasn't really spiritual, it was just to try and have a snow day away from school.

I remember reading, about the Native Americans having some kind of 'spirit dancing' that the soldiers tried to get them to stop doing! The soldiers didn't like them dancing on the reservation, because they said it would take them back to their Indian culture if they 'danced'!
Maybe there are Native Americans on Yahoo that will answer this one!
Hope this helps!

Why yes I have! For our religious celebrations we sometimes do drumming circles and dancing. You feel the energy build and its dizzying like a trance. We also have techno/electronica dance parties (more for fun than the gods though). Soon we should be having a techno shamanism moon ritual including techno shaman dance music which should be quite trancey.

You mean aside from the free form stuff that was common at Grateful Dead concerts? No I haven't but I can tell you that the dancing was spiritual

We do spiral dances often. Every year at the faerie festival, they have a huge spiral dance during the Lughnasadh ritual.

I've been to a Messianic service before and they had Hebrew worship dancing.

I've never heard of that one, but I've heard of praise dancing, they do it at my church. I don't feel I'm graceful enough to try any sort of dance, myself!
