im sorry
please everyone try&understand that this question is in no way meant to offend anyone!
in fact, honestly,i do feel ashamed for even thinking this way
but i suppose its the human in me,or the devil in me
anyway, ive wondered this for a long time

every time any person suffers all the religious people
remind that person of how jesus suffered

(i cant even believe im saying this) dont ANY of you think that a lifetime of suffering and not even feeling Gods love is worse than suffering for a few days and KNOWING for sure that God loves you, also,JESUS was healthy in mind and body and that also affects ones thinking and strength..

im sorry,i just dont think its fair to compare,in fact what JESUS went through seems alot less than what alot of others go through
im not talking about myself either,im talking about many many people,
im not dismissing what JESUS did for us (even though,i still dont get it)i just dont think its right of others to dismiss others sufferings wi

For starters have you seen the Passion of the Christ?

Mel Gibson said he had to tone down the crucifixion because it was to gory. People still said it was to graphic.

Second and most importantly:

Jesus was without sin. It is hard to imagine that being human. He was God in the flesh, HOLY. The stripes he took were for our sicknesses and our infirmities. The blood he shed was for our salvation. Not to be taken lightly at all.
Sin is unclean, God never knew sin. Had all the sin of the world laid upon him. Your's, mine and everyone's. You have to know God in great depts to fully understand this. He took more upon him than anyone who ever lived. You or I or anyone has never had anyone else's sin put upon us.

Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Ariana,
I am a Christian but i NEVER dismiss what others go through. The pain and suffering in this world is horrible at times and I am thankful that GOD has graced me as HE has. I have a mother who has endured more pain in the last fifty years than most people will ever see. She has been bedfast for the last six or seven years and yet she has been the strongest woman that I have ever known. She and her mother were two hard working women who always knew how to work a full week and never could anyone keep up with them at work for over two hours. I believe that the Romans were experts (from what I have read and studied) in pain and torture. The beat him with whips that were leather containing sticks, rocks, and bones. HE was so weak that HE was unable to carry the cross member for HIS Cross to the hill where HE was crucified. You are right that HE knew HE was going to be killed before it ever occured but that did not ease HIS Pain any at all. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

.By the way, My dad always reminds me of JOB when I talk about the pain that my mom is going through... He is a tremendous man and I admire him greatly!!

You are right they shouldn't be compared because no suffering can ever compare to the suffering that Jesus went through !!! When people suffer I remind them that there is a season for everything including a season or healing !!! anyways God suffer and he also said through his stripes we are healed and a scientist once said that there are about 30 plus major diseases and Jesus have 30 plus stripes from the beatings while on the cross now doesn't that mean healing for every disease WE CAN BE HEALED. By the way answerer No1Home2 is great it is correct every word of it that should be your best answer !!! I love it !!!

Jesus went through more personal persecution than any of us could ever know. The difference in his suffering and our suffering is that He did nothing wrong to provoke his suffering. He was obeying His Father and doing work, and teaching things to save the worls and in that He was constantly rideculed, persecuted, and mocked. Went through 40 days of being tempted by satan, etc. not to mention the horrible manner in which His time on this earth was ended. The suffering the most Humans go through today are things that we've brought onto ourselves or that we have allowed to manifest in our own lives. We're disracted by the hard times and the troubles that we make. That is not to say that people dont get horrible diseases today that they had not proked in ANY way. The bible said" The sins of the father will be brought to the third and fourth generations" Which means the sins of our fathers will be passed down through generations. ie. generational curses.
And there is a difference in a "religious" person and a Christian.
Please don't judge Christians by religions. Religions are man -made, and generally are based on the bible.(some more loosely based on the bible than others), but Christianity is a belief, that being said no one is perfect.
Just try and imagine being ridiculed your entire life , knowing who your father is and not being able to tell anyone, imagine knowing that you are right in your personal morals and peopel constantly putting you down for them, knowing the the weight of the world was literally on your shoulders, that being said, Jesus suffering was much worse, but He did it all for a reason. For this world, and so that one day we would all be able to go to Heaven.
And no, you won't go to hell for asking this. but you do have to be saved to go to Heaven.
I hope that one day all of your questions will be answered and that you have a true understanding of Jesus. I also pray this for myself, as I don't have all the answers or know everything=)

Sometimes we think that what we are suffering is worse than any ever, well I got news for you its not. There is always somebody in worse shape. Also who told you that life was fair and that life was a bed of roses. Its not. And one thing if for sure, you will never understand the sufferings of JESUS CHRIST until you accept him as your Lord and Saviour, I have been a Christian for years and there is no way you will understand until you experience the power of God in your life. Now at some point Jesus is going to touch your heart and show you He is God, it will be up to you to follow him or not. Jesus said in the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have over come the world. Jesus overcame the penalty of sin when He arose from the Grave. We are all sinners, and we all suffer, Jesus created us, then came to earth in the flesh and was rejected and crucified. He was Perfect, we are the sinners, and the Bible says the wages for sin is death so Jesus died in our place but because he was perfect he arose from the grave washing away every sin of the whole world. All we have to do to go to Heaven is believe, here's how, just say Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

I don't think God condemns people for asking questions. I think it's very insensitive to invalidate someones suffering by comparing it to Jesus's suffering. You sound like you are very unhappy and very unsure, that's probably why someone suggested you get help, just to have someone to talk to and help you work things out. As for the suffering of Jesus, there is no comparison. He was innocent and took on the sins of us all. He was beaten for hours, until close to death. He had a crown of thorns jammed onto His head, and then had to carry a cross for miles. He then had nails driven into His wrists and ankles and was hung by them from a cross for hours. His side was pierced by a sword. All of this was done while He was being jeered at and spat upon by the very people He was going through this to save! Yes, other people suffer, and their suffering is valid, but don't say that any of that could be worse than the suffering of Jesus.

I wouldn't worry about it. That's an honest question and it isn't rude or spiteful at all. The best way I heard it described is.. You are perfect and know how the world could be. You feel every pain and hurt suffered by all mankind in all of history. So ..You go to Earth knowing you will suffer. that most people will never even believe you existed. and then get crucified, after torture and being spat upon..Yet you love even the people that did this to you enough to go.

An honest question does not deserve offense, but rather a straight answer. God does not fear a seeking heart. Even if that heart is focused on disbelief. (not that I am saying yours is such a question.)

First, let us deal with the heart of the question. Suffering. Jesus experienced every form of heartache we face. But, this is not to trivialize our suffering. It means that he understands what we have gone through and can see us through.

No Christian should point out Jesus' suffering as in your example. I usually reference Jesus suffering when Christians go too heavy on prosperity doctrine. The reason is simple God's gifts to us is more than monetary gain. If we think we are going to get a easy pass on this world we need to remember Jesus was God's son and he did not have it easy.

Now for why Jesus had to suffer and die. Well when man fell God covered us by shedding blood. It was this blood sacrifice that covered our sin. It was decided by God (for his reasons) that man should continue to cleanse themselves of sin by offering various sacrifices. Perhaps because it does two things. First, we acknowledge our need for a sacrifice. Second, we are willing to give up something that is precious to us. Finally, God accepts this and is the only reason it works.

But, God did not intend for this system to go on forever. He was always moving us to the ultimate sacrifice that would take the place of this sacrifice and atone for all sin. This sacrifice had to be pure and blameless. Also, as many have said by man sin entered the world and by man sin will leave. But who could this perfect sacrifice be? Romans tells us ALL have sinned so that leaves us in quite the pickle. God had the answer. He would be the sacrifice.

Now think this through. God wanted a relationship with man. He provided a perfect place that was rejected. He had to punish them. Still wanting to save his creation he sets up a system that he will one day pay. He comes to earth in human form telling us the way back to him and pays the blood sacrifice because he loves us and wishes to renew that fellowship.

That makes sense to think that. Maybe the people who are telling you that just don't know how to explain it correctly. Sorry I don't know what to say because now I'm confused!! it's a good question though ask your pastor

but you don't suffer every minute of your life, there are happy times though.....

good luck figuring this out!

But, no one knows the real pain that He actually went through of because no one has experience what He has!! the whip that the hit him with actually had things tied to it like broken glass and was called a whip of nine tails and it tore out his guts
And, not everyone liked Him!! he went through loads of rejection before being crucified too!
You know the movie they made? The guy who played Jesus ACTUALLY got whipped by accident in the scene and had to be rushed to the hospital. He said it was the worst thing he's ever felt and he was only hit once and it wasn't even on purpose!!

I don't think that the suffering of Jesus is "worse" than anyone else's, it is just that Jesus willingly went through extreme suffering for us. By the way, I think most thinking Christians have thought about this at one time or another, I know I have. God Bless you.

Ariana , I have suffered for the sake of Christ, but I have not suffered unto death. I would count it a privilege to be martyred for Christs sake. Jesus died a horrible death by crucifixion. Not only was it extremely painfull physically but the mental anguish Jesus had to suffer was beyond our comprehension. Remember Christ took the punishment for all the sins of the world past present and future. Can you imagine the burden he felt on the cross? Here he was, the only person never to commit a sin and yet he suffered for all the sins of every human being that ever lived or will live. We can not comprehend the pain he had when he cried out to the Father" Why has thou forsaken me? Many Christians have died horrible deaths , burned at the stake, tortured , drawn and quartered, starved, drowned, and been beaten to death but not one had the burden of Christ. It is not that hard to get , Ariana. If you truly want to know the truth of Jesus Christ, get on your knees and pray that God the Father will reveal his truth to you. Ask God to do this in the name of Jesus and he will.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
