How does God decide, does it go on the number of prayers or how good the prayers are?

2007-10-27 15:29:59 · 21 answers · asked by Anonymous

I assume that it’s to serve god and get to heaven, right? Now what doesn’t make sense is that god supposedly knows where every soul is going, even before he made the universe. So then, why have a life to live first? Free will you say? So, lets examine the process of life and death as god made it. If you believe in him and die, you go to heaven and god gets credit for bringing you there. But if you sin and go to hell, god is blameless because of free will. Even though god knew you were going there from the begining, it’s still your fault because you made the decision.

SO, what is gods reasoning to create a mortal life for eternal souls? By this logic god has created a mechanism to condemn large amounts of souls to eternal torture by using a loophole that absolves him of any wrongdoing. Smells like spiritual genocide to me. Any thoughts?

The following says all have sinned. Not all but Mary, but all. If Mary did not sin then the verse below must be wrong. (Jesus is the obvious exception to this since He is God and thus cannot fall short of His own glory.)

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Sounds kind of childish for the Creator of the Universe to be running the whole salvation thing that way.

Someone described the Church of England as a faith that didn't require anyone to believe in anything much except being nice to people. That seems to sum up the English attitude, people are expected to put the welfare of others first, religion is not mentioned or comes second. Going door to door asking "Are you saved?" is not British. So the UK has values derived from Christian teaching but is more multicultural than Christian. Has anyone evidence of this?

A couple of weeks ago in church I was listening to the sermon and in the sermon the preacher had said that no gay people go to heaven. And this has really bothered ever since. God is supposed to love everyone and I don't believe that what the preacher said is true and the few people I have asked for the opinion of agreed with me and they all including me are straight. Could I have some other peoples opinions to see how others feel about this subject. Thanks.

like in destiny, like you were born just to go through a series of events. And if you say "i chose my fate no other" then my counterclame would be, you could have been destined to think that. so then it would be your destiny to think you didn't have a predetermind fate but you actually did. what is your opinion on this matter.

In fact, the term ‘Heaven’ - capitalized - has a shared meaning in Islam and all the other revealed religions. Primarily, it refers to that beautiful abode where, those who believe in only God, humble themselves to worship Him, do the good and avoid the evil, are promised to go after the end of this worldly life. In this sense, it is the synonym of the "Gardens of Paradise", which is the equivalent of the Arabic word: Jannah. Those blessed dwellers will live there in an everlasting life.

This term, in Christian theology, may also mean a name of God the All Mighty. Again, in the sufist (mystic) tradition of both religions, this term means an ecstatic state of communion with God.

Thus, it is obvious that all the connotations of this word are spiritual and highly exalted, above the human level of worldly experience. It is a transcendental space that the believers, though never experienced, yet are able to conceive through the detailed description that God has supplied them with. This is in order to arouse their incitement and longing for it. It is difficult to quote the many verses in Qur'an that describe Heaven, as these are so many!

It might be sufficient to know that every pleasure in that Heaven is unparalleled to that in the worldly life. It is as the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (pbuh), described to enclose:

"What no eye has ever seen and no ear has never heard and no human heart has ever perceived." (Narrated in the book of compiled hadiths by Imam Muslim.)

Its food, houses, rivers, pleasures… everything is beyond imagination! And because the believer is always attached to the spiritual more than the sensual, even in Heaven, God has made the ultimate ecstasy for the believers there, is to look at His Holy Countenance. Such is a blessing, from which believers never get bored or even get accustomed to, despite familiarity.

Because this term – Heavens - refers to the place and condition of utmost happiness, it was borrowed or say, "hijacked", by those whose philosophy of life is a mere hedonistic one. I think that their choice of this word in particular is evidence, in itself, of their awareness of the model image of happiness and bliss.

But the gap is quite wide, between the model image and this worldly application of pleasure, which is definitely associated with a pain or discomfort of some kind, or at least with the sense of temporality or boredom. For this reason, those hedonists rely on a "carp diem" style of life. This is a Latin expression, which means: "live day by day". This would mean that you must exhaust your pleasure every day for fear that there may not be a second opportunity tomorrow!

If you need to know more about the description of Heaven, from the Islamic point of view, I recommend that you buy a CD of the Qur'an, the Muslim Holy book, and just search for the words "Heavens" and "Gardens of Paradise". Here, you will know much about the rewards that await the believers there and more important, the requirement for a believer to attain them. Such requirements would look simple compared to the reward, and can - with the mercy of God - be reached if one can persevere in obeying Allah and practicing true Islam.

Islam lifts up Jesus Christ as Allah's Greatest profit (see Holy book of Islam), but every time I ask a Muslim; what massage did Jesus bring from Allah? Or what did He ever say? The response is always the same:
The massage Jesus brought from Allah, has been LOST in the history, because, Bible was changed & altered by man and as the result, Allah's massage to His people was LOST!
How is it that Muslims believe Allah can DO ENYTHING, except PRESERVING His own words sent through Jesus Christ?
Is it not a SIN against Allah to doubt His Ability to preserve His own words delivered by profits & recorded in the Bible?
Allah was able to preserve Mohammad’s massage without any change (as Muslims claim) and FAILED to do the same for Jesus?
Don't you think Moslems should listen to Allah, Mohammad & the words in the Holy book of Islam, by seeking Jesus Christ and the massage He brought from Allah?
Don’t you think if Allah is capable of sending massages through His profits, He is also capable of preserving them?
Especially when he promises repeatedly in the Bible; that we will all die, but His words will remain forever?

If not, why not?
If we all simply exist as products of evolution and if there are no absolute standards of right and wrong (since there is no creative being who gave standards to the world), what right do we have to judge the actions of another person (I even hate to use the word "person" in this context!)?
Society may get together and pass laws to protect society as a whole, but on what moral basis can they do that without assuming that certain actions are helpful to society and certain things are harmful? Why punish people who break those laws?

You don't think there's going to be consequences after death for your actions on earth? What kind of monsters are you?
You just think everyone can do whatever they want without consequences. It is sick people like you that ruin the world. We can't have this. This is a Christian nation and we need to carry out God's will. It's coming close to the point where maybe atheists shouldn't be considered citizens.

The LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it."

Human race will 'split into two different species'
By NIALL FIRTH - More by this author » Last updated at 16:18pm on 26th October 2007

The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.

100,000 years into the future, sexual selection could mean that two distinct breeds of human will have developed.

The alarming prediction comes from evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry from the London School of Economics, who says that the human race will have reached its physical peak by the year 3000.

i thought we were going to get more advanced? dimwitted scientists contradict with their own theories.
