Why didn't mankind satisfy their questions as to where we came from, why, and what did it with just saying lets wait and see?Why create themselves a paradoxical, illogical superbeing that felt it necessary to allegedly come to earth in human form to sacrifice himself to himself in order to appease himself?

One estimate suggests that as many as 15 per cent of Muslims in Western societies have lost their faith, which would mean that in Britain there are about 200,000 apostates.

Why do so many seem to be drifting away? Even under the intense social pressure they are under to conform, and even death threats and assaults. Are liberal western values just incompatible with Islam?

someone posts a religious or other opinion based question, and when the poster doesn't agree with the answers, he edits the Q to argue his point. this isn't a message board! If you can't handle the truth, DONT ASK!

I can remember countless times when the preacher would do his thing at the end of the service where he creates fear within the heart of people. "Where will you go when you walk out these doors and then you die all of a sudden?"

I know they mean well but does the fear of hell produce disciples that will walk in the steps of Jesus?

On the flip side you have this mindset where people delight that their enemies will get to burn in an eternal fire. Our early church fathers were guilty of these comments.

I also read where some acknowledged that hell was a useful tool for conversion since people of other religions had a similiar concept they could associate it with.

Then another mindset emerges of judgement during our life. When disaster strikes some will say God is judging mankind for their sins.

If that were so then where is the great white throne?

Im not preaching, Im just asking. when it comes to 'under God' in the pledge or 'In God We Trust' on money, we need a lawyer to protect the non-believer from God. But when it comes to floods in LA and fires in CA, its 'an act of God' for insurance or 'God help those poor people' for the talk show puppets. I don't care what your religious views are, I just wish people would be consistant, or at least stop being so hypocritical.

Defining specific differences between humans and animals fascinates me. At first glance, the differences would seem obvious and if one has an overly religious perception of their place in reality then the difference is so obvious that it’s absurd to begin to attempt to define it. Yet to a mind open to all knowledge without faith based restrictions, the differences are few. Whilst our technology and our accumulated knowledge has allowed to progress far, there are many aspects of our behavior that are inherently animalistic in nature.

In a world of predator and prey, fear is an essential teaching aid to young animals. Close calls with predators and other life threatening situations leave indelible pathways within the mind and these lessons remain with the individual for life. We modern humans however are at the top of the food chain, we have no predators and life threatening situations, which are a daily occurrence for animals, happen only a handful of times throughout our entire lives – fear is not as an essential teaching aid for humans as it is for animals.

Except when it comes to religion…

For most or maybe all of them that you're doing to worship God and Lord Jesus Christ is not in God's Holy Words?
Therefore, how can you know they're of God? If they're not biblically proven? Are you saying you got a diffrent revelation from God?Rev 22:10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

-- I have been a Christian (Methodist) all my life.

-- I was baptised by water and then later, confirmed into my church as a full-time member.

-- I still hold on to my 'old habits', awful addictions that I have had since I was a child.

-- I love God, I just don't think He *should* love me.

Since it's safe for me to say a majority of you live in the U.S., I wanna ask you the following questions:

1. Would your beliefs remain the same if you went to a different country and lived there for a while? Particularly ones that are rich in culture like Japan, China, Philippines, Thailand, and India?

2. Would you be as outspoken about your beliefs in these countries as you are here? When you are aware that the culture (yes, even the modern culture) is different from that of America?

3. Would you be willing to explore how life is like in these countries and see if you can learn something from them?

Here is one. And if you check my profile you'll see many links to hundreds of other Muslims, most of them Islamic leaders and Mosque leaders, proving that the terrorists have no right to be doing what they do. These links also contain other links to hundreds of others. Why do you wish to ignore the condemnations after trying to claim we don't speak out? We've been speaking out against extremists from day one, but quite conveniently those who are sick in the head enough to enjoy the feeling of hatred don't want to hear it. At least those who truly follow Islam have done their part. And no, we're not going to risk our own families to please those who will just say "well that was just one......" because it's not worth it. We can fight the extremists and we can prove to them that they are no Muslims, but we also have children and we're not leaving them orphaned to please those who will call them terrorists for just being Muslims when they are adults. What do you think?

the priest told me that satan is in ALL. another priest told me that satan can give us intelligent ideas..

i noticed that the psichologists say that you have halucinations if you hear something or if you see something that is unseen by others..

in the books of the saints it is shown that what is unseen by others are the visions given by demons..there are also visions given by God not only to the prophets of the bible or to the saints.
actually a vision is something revealed by God, part of the reality. A saint has seen how the demons are calling a man on their way to sin..an angel was shown to the saint..the angel was looking like a man , was crying , because the man he was taking care of, was inside the whorehouse...the saint saw how the demons make the people fight.. the saint saw how the demons take the money spent by a man into a pub and give it to satan'' their god''..saying that it money won by them..and so on..

also a preiest says that those who are begginers in prayer

this question is mainly directed to all my brothers and sisters in Islam: I am a recent convert to Islam, and I have been going through a serious internal struggle lately about whether or not to start wearing hijab now. I really want to wear it, as I agree with the reasons behind it, but I have to admit that living in the U.S., I am scared about how people will treat me. I am also scared about how my white Christian family will react. I am 22 yrs old and am currently finishing my last semester of college. I feel like this may be meant to be one of my biggest jihads in life, I am seriously struggling with this. I can't sleep. Please, any advice/stories about when you or someone you know first started wearing hijab? Thanks so much! Salaam Alaikum :)
