i'm not a bible scholar, but i've read recently that the jews believed the end days will be peaceful, with the human messiah bringing peace to the world. but christians believe in the tribulation period of great suffering, which seems to be what prophet Daniel's writing is all about. Can anyone explain the difference to me. thank you

People knock on your door to spread 'the word of god'?

Every so often on a saturday this happens to me and it really, really annoys me! If I wanted to know about god or someone else's faith, I would ask them!

Am I alone in this?

when I hear people say stuff like "what does god eat for dinner" or "does god have a wife" it really makes me wonder if they're serious or not. if they are, then obvious they've been influenced by the movies too much. they all they god is "superman" who's got super powers and can do anything..

god is very simply the prescence of good. god is not a person, he doesn't think like a human being, god is pure good. god is among every part of this world, he is everywhere. but if you refuse to believe that god's there, then you're gonna be blinded by evil. God only seem far away because you've been blinded for too long, start believing and god will appear. keep believing and he will appear closer, finally he will have all of you and you'll be pure once again.

Belive in jesus! jesus is the messenger of god!

Trinitarian Christians baptize "In The Name of The Father and The Son and The Holy Spirit".

Others baptize "In The Name of Jesus".

Is one of Jesus' statements correct and the other incorrect?

Or, is there a divine mystery which links the two and somehow makes both statements of His correct?

How should we then baptize?

Please elaborate.

Shouldn't you belive in God, just in case there is one? And why are there still monkeys if we evolved from monkeys? How can you have any morals without God? Do you know you worship Satan by denying God?............*cheers*

I was brought up in a very religious fundamentalist environment, but as I got older I seperated myself from this type of arena, now I am in my 30's, and I am pretty secular, but I sometimes feel that fundamentalist programming rear its ugly head, my main concern is my judgementalism towards other people, I know the roots of this is in my upbringing, I d my best to suppress it, but it always comes back, how do I change my paradigm, or my way of looking at the world, so that can be more tolerant and accepting. one thing else I should add, is, on the surface, I act like certain things dont bother me, but deep down they do, so its not like I mistreat anyone for their lifestyle choices, but I keep it inside, I want to change that part of me deep inside, so my inner and outer worlds are congruent.

" Is 8 Track perilously close to conversion?"
Now, I admit that I hang out in R/S ....alot. But she seems to think that I somehow losing my atheist edge. Usually, if someone says something like this to me, I just laugh it off. But here's the problem, she is a Psychologist, like someone else I know, and she is pretty smart on top of that. But, she is a Catholic, and maybe just trying to make me crazy. I would really like to hear from those who know me, or have read my questions or answers, what do you think? Is 8 Track on the highway to hebbin?
