I also ask you to look closly at yourself before answering. Is you opinion about it really your own, or just a society standard which you have adopted?
And please ask yourself; why is it, that what YOU determine as "right" or "wrong" is in fact "right" or "wrong".
And does your definition of "right" and "wrong" apply on a global scale of life?

I for one vote yes. That from now on, any such idiotic question be treated like the other *drink* questions.
All agreed?

Many organisations have failed to report allegations of child abuse and other serious crimes within their ranks to the police. Instead they have dealt with matters in house, sometimes with disastrous results. This is presumably because the consequences of bad publicity are uppermost in the leader's minds. In view of what they claim to stand for, how do adherents come to terms with this and stay with them?

I'm trapped between choosing to convert into Born-Again Christianity or just stay as a Catholic. My dad told me that Born Agains are narrow minded and self-righteous. He even added that they will not be welcomed to God's kingdom because of their self-righteousness. Sometimes I feel that attending services (at a Born Again Church) is much better because we can be alive in praising God rather than just following a ritual. I really need help because I'm so confused. I can't stop thinking about it...

The following is a conversation that I had with someone last night. I’ve abridged it in the interest of space, presenting the talking points :

Her : “There is no such thing as right or wrong.”

Me : “A man walks up right now and murders your dog. Is that wrong?” [We were at a dog park with our dogs at the time of the conversation.]

Her : “No.”

Me : “You’re walking home, and a stranger grabs you and rapes you. Is that wrong?”

Her : “No. Both of those are experiences that needed to happen.”

I went on to ask her, point blank, if she has taken a lot of drugs in her life. She acknowledged that she smokes marijuana on a regular basis, but I don’t attribute her comments to smoking pot. I also asked her religion. She stated that she believed in Christ, had strong faith, but wasn't a Christian. She labeled herself a polytheist.

So, I ask you, good people of R&S : Does this woman display Christ-like tendencies for forgiveness, or is she a clinical sociopath?

As for as my experience is concerned, I don't see any person 100% good. Also the human character changes only due to circumstances, situation and habitants.

Some people are just silly.

I believe that reality TV will suck the spiritual life out of the world and leave us with a society that does not send criminals away but will simply vote them off the continent.

So, you stole that thing Mr. Dork? Well, we're going to vote you off. Pack up your stuff and leave. You will not be America's next top citizen.

I also believe that aliens will pick up on our broadcasts and decide to destroy us because they will fear our reality TV signals by mistaking them for real life on the planet.

Agree or Disagree?

Personally, I've always thought that peace is impossible. For as long as life exists, there will be conflict, as creature battles creature for survival. Even within ourselves, our bodies fight battles of their own, against disease, or against the blade of betrayal, loneliness and anxiety. Peace is impossible.
