I got a new job at a home care place and they are supposed to be Christian. It's a live in position and they told me to make myself at home. So I decorated my room with things I like. And my boss got upset because I had a couple of pics of me and my boyfriend and actually said they were pornographic and suggestive! But they weren't. One of the pictures was at a Christmas party and he has his hand on my backside and the other one was taken at the beach with us in our swimsuits. What was so pornographic about that? And she said the same thing about my romance novel. I know some romance novels have suggestive pics on the covers but this one didn't. I mean do all Christians have problems with things like this and if you think it's a problem what's the big deal?

I used to teach Sunday School.

But then I felt bad because I didn't really believe the stuff I was teaching the kids. But get this...

One time, I was having class with my kids and we heard the teacher in the next room telling his 6th grade Sunday school class that they were "a bunch of a.s.s.holes."

Seriously! My class and I were both aghast and trying not to laugh. I couldn't believe this elder would say that to a bunch of kids! I mean, it was funny just for the incongruity of having a Sunday school teacher say that to the kids, but really how completely inappropriate.

My kids, though they were subjected to a heathen in Sunday school, were never called a.s.s.holes and were treated with respect. Which group is more likely to become "feral"?

Religion is a poor substitute for common sense, since it opens up a bigger question than it answers. If you are going to argue that God always was, you might as well argue that people always were. Neither argument makes any sense, does it?

If so, why is Islam the only religion associated with violence and terrorism? I don't talk in general for my Muslim brothers nor do I want to offend them.

Is there a way that peace-loving Muslims can do so that the world can disabuse their minds of these?

the quran details the teachings of the religion of islam in such a way that the reader could very likely embrace its teachings and choose this as his religion." The last thing we need are a bunch of peaceful spiritual person running around.

1) It disproves the Genesis account
2) An understanding of it can lead to the creation of many new medicines and such

Only pick one. It seems virtually everyone thinks evolution is a tool to use against religion. Although I have my doubts of evolution, I think it can be very useful in medicine. For over a century we have debated religion vs evolution. Isn't it a shame that scientific principles are being used more to oppose religion rather than to create medicines? I think you should give up on caring about how someone thinks the world came to be or how many gods there are, and instead focus simply on science. The ancient Sumerians for instance performed complex eye operations. Would you rather they spent all their time debating how earth came to be? All these debates about how old the earth is or how we are related to chimps does not seem to help or benefit mankind.

We atheists don't expect any rewards when we help our fellow humans, especially 'afterlife' rewards....what do you say about that?

this doesn't make it necessarily divine. if you were on an archeological dig and found the holy grail along with evidence to definitively prove that it was in fact the holy grail (jesus' name was carved into the cup along with a note from the templars/crusaders verifying its authenticity and the exact history of the cup which made logical sense if put into modern historical timelines).

what would you do with it?

I think it would make an excellent shot glass!

I'm doing a lot of soul searching at the moment, I feel I would benefit from some spiritual insight... The trouble is, which path to choose? I really want to feel closer to something, I'm not conventually religious, so I do not want to follow that route. But I feel like I should be by the sea, I keep dreaming of being there (in with my nightmares) How do you know where your spiritual path lies? I feel very human and full of regrets right now..

If Mormons believe that the Bible is true. So long as its translated correctly. Because it has been altered several times. What makes The Book of Mormon any better. It has been changed several times as well.
According to the Mormon Church’s teaching manual, Gospel Principles, page 53,

Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon into English through the gift and power of God. He said that it is "the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book" (History of the Church, 4:461).

Yet, the book which Joseph Smith declared was "the most correct of any book on earth" (History of the Church, vol. 4, p. 461) has been revised in over 3900 places. Most of these changes were made to correct embarrassing spelling and grammatical errors (this will be examined in more detail later in this article).

How many of today's feral thugs on the streets were sent to Sunday school and how many were taught (wrongly) by their atheist parents that Jesus' teachings don't matter?
I bet most of the feral kids never attended Sunday school or church in their lives.

I absolutley detest her. I find her money grubbing, lieing ways disgusting. She plays on peoples emotions and hearts for their money. She is the biggest con I have ever heard of. The sad gullible people she plays with need to wake up and see her for the absolute fake she is. If you disagree with me than you are wrong and blind.

my proof outweigs your proof:

1- sparticus' body was never found, likewise when judas turned him in and he was crucified his body disappeared, thus proving that sparticus had power to ressurect himself.

2- sparticus was a great leader, he rallied an army of slaves around him and then later used peacefull methods to accrue no less than 13 diciples (don't forget rufus).

3- he certainly had a grudge against the roman empire.

4- god came to me last night when comedy central was interrupted on tv and told me so.

If God has power over everything than why did he make us. Why couldn't he just Force us to obey him instead of leaving things to chance. Why didn't he just create us all one type of clear, focus, and rightious mind. Why would he create something that he knows he will burn later on. Isn't it just a waste of our and, more infantly, his time. Can't he find something better to do. If he just wanted people who love him and believe in him then he could alter mans's mind into thinking the right things. Does God know the Future, If so why did he even create us to go through wars, fightings, kids getting raped, etc... if he could just show his face for everyone to believe. Why were all the prophets human? why couldn't God send down an angel for us to believe in him more surely. Why did God let satan into the garden of Adam and Eve when he could just easily block his way or something.
Nothing makes sense anymore with all these messed up stories I don't know what to believe.

Words of wisdom from my 11 year old, but is he to young to realize it?

He was talking to his stuffed frog, and he said to it "Stop poking your owner in the eye." This is what immediately came to my heart.

How disobedient children disappoint their parents, yet we still love them they may still grieve us.

How GOD created us all for HIS pleasure, and how HE is our parent, though HE still loves us, we may greieve HIM.

Stop poking your creater in the eye.

I believe that GOD speaks to us even through our children's play.

I dont want any rude comments from other religions because I think we all have our different beliefs.

Anyways, can you actually float or levitate things? I just want to know because I am a beginner wiccan and I can't figure out what things are true or not. In some places, there are things that say yes, and other places that say no. I'm just confused! Is there any place or website I can go to to learn witchcraft the right way and the truthful way? I don't want anything false because I am a beginner.

Please, if you are a Christian or any other religion that thinks that people who use witchcraft should go to hell, please keep your comments to yourself. Thanks.
