This weekend we baptized our three year old son in a big Orthodox church on Crete. I had never taken him to church (I was four months pregnant when the last priest hit on me, so I never went again) and I am a christian that believes that we shouldn't force our children into a religious sect, but teach them both sides of the story and let them choose when they are older. However my husbands family wouldn't hear of it (by the way my son can't be enrolled in school unless he is baptized Orthodox..can you believe it? I would have to send appeals to Brussels to get him into school!) so we baptized him. Not only did he kick the priest in the balls, and turn over the silver basin screaming his lungs out, the next morning he was covered in a rash where the holy anointment oil had touched him. People here are very superstitious and the 'talk' has begun around town. Have I given birth to the antichrist or what? : )

“Jehovah God himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains, when there were no springs heavily charged with water. Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains, when as yet he had not made the earth and the open spaces and the first part of the dust masses of the productive land. When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep, when he made firm the cloud masses above, when he caused the fountains of the watery deep to be strong, when he set for the sea his decree that the waters themselves should not pass beyond his order, when he decreed the foundations of the earth, then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially

Geico Auto insurance says in their radio advertisement that "you can save $500 by switching to Geico" (we'll even assume that the $500 figure is accurate - but they don't state where the $500 figure comes from). I think this ad is clearly deceptive for several reasons.

First of all, it says you "can save" money, not that you "will save" money, but it gives the opposite impression.

Next, it implies that Geico insurance is (on average) $500 cheaper than insurance from other companies which is blatently false.

And finally, and most importantly, it bases the $500 savings on people that "switch to Geico" only. It's not a comparison of all Geico rates with the rates from other companies. So, naturally, if you switched to Geico (and most people switch companies to save money), their rates will appear to be less than the company they switched "from".

Do you think that this Geico ad is deceptive?

My second question is mathmatically, do you think if a man has more than one wife, they could breed more, I mean 1 man 4 wifes, 2 children with each wife = 8 children for 1 men and 3 bachlors with no children, so 1 woman for 1 man and 2 children on average would still make 8 children, something that the educated people in advanced societies have already figured out.

The three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - all
purport to share one fundamental concept: belief in God as the Supreme
Being, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. Known as "tawhid" in
Islam, this concept of the Oneness of God was stressed by Moses in a
Biblical passage known as the "Shema," or the Jewish creed of faith:
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." (Deuteronomy 6:4)

It was repeated word-for-word approximately 1500 years later by Jesus
when he said: "...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the
Lord our God is one Lord." (Mark 12:29)

«"Muhammad came along approximately 600 years later, bringing the same message again: "And your God is One God: There is no God but He, ..."» (The Qur'an 2:163)

Christianity has digressed from the concept of the Oneness of God,
however, into a vague and mysterious doctrine that was formulated during the fourth century

If you look at the original texts and the original languages, Jesus never spoke of it. http://www.gospelthemes.com/hell.htm

Do you really think God would do this? I know some of you will say God is just, but, honestly, would this be just?

I don't think God is this sadistic...and that's exactly what it would be...sadistic.

Well they found fossils of a dinosaur 4 story's tall with a neck that is 56 feet long. The ark was only 45 feet high.(http://www.biblestudy.org/basicart/sizeark.html) Now obviously the devil created this fossil and put here on earth because we know for a fact (Based on biblical description of the arks measurements) that there is no way this dinosaur could have fit in pairs on the ark. Unless god shrunk it down to pocket size which is totally possible from a Christian point of view. Considering that the bible Clearly says 2 of every animal it seems more likely to me that the devil is creating these fossils to confuse us and prove atheist right when they say the bible is a load of garbage. What do you think?

Throught the bible, Jesus doesn't call himeslf God...he says he is son of Man...so where does it come in that yes he's God...he himself use to pray to God...so if he's God y does he need to.
He also called himeslf son of God, which was a general term used during his time...as i believe i am the child of God and so do others...
where in the bible is Jesus stated 2 b God...the creator of the universe...didn't all of this come from human understanding...

About original sin:

Adam & Eve were created sinless and unaware of good and evil. They were like innocent infants.

God deliberately put a tree with the forbidden fruits in the middle of Eden. God told Adam not to eat but not explaining why.

Adam ate the fruit not being aware of good or evil and not knowing what sin is.

God then cursed humanity till these days.

FLAWS:

Why would God convict Adam for sinning when Adam did not understand sin or know what evil was? God could have punished Adam but not to this extent. Would you curse your 2 your old child if he disobeyed you and ate your fruitcake not even explaining why he shouldn't eat the fruit cake?

Adam disobeying God was not an act of sin since Adam did not understand the difference between evil and good and even sin. He did not even know what would happen if he ate the fruit.

heard catholics r anti christ koz they call pope holy father, hw can a human being b holy, catholics believe dat Jesus death wasnt enough to pay4our sins, hw can a God send His son to come save us n let Him die without fullfiling salvation4humanity!also the statue worshiping of marry-God sayss u should hev no other God besides me, in other words worship none bt Me.
i ask of muslims simply koz Jesus is just a prophet n nt son of God, God cannot have a son n dat it is impossible for Him to have one, hw can the all powerfull God to whom nothng is impossible b incapable to hev a son as He wishes?!,to say God cannot hev a son is to another level diminishingthe powers of God, to say Jesus was just a mere human being is to deny Him of His Godly status, thats looking down on Him!

My crazy prayers always seem to work. Each time I pray for the rooster to get off of the hen when he wants to mate her- he always gets off of her. When I don't pray- he stays on her. Strange! Sometimes I feel forced to pray for things I don't want- and these prayers always come true. Then I feel so angry and frustrated. Why do u think I feel forced to pray for things I don't want? And what is answering my prayers- I don't believe in the god in the bible. It must be another supernatural power.
