It really doesn't matter what the fruit was, whether it was sex, or apple or neither. Still remains that they were told to leave it alone and didn't. God had said eating the forbidden fruit would bring death, and relented and ley them live, but outside the garden. What the fruit was is irrelevant, suffice to say it was good enough to cause them to disobey with the knowledge they would surely die. And in fact they did eventually die, otherwise they might still be the only two people here. Happy and naked and unashamed without all this religeous foo-faraw to argue over. Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Agnostics, Atheists, whatever religion or non-religion you happen to be, You still will never get out of this world alive, so why argue over it. Because you are people, that's why. So alike and trying to be so different. Always trying to prove we are right and they are wrong, when in truth we are probably all wrong, and we will probably all burn in the fires of hell for the way we live.

It seems to me that you are questioning the fairness of God, not the facts of the story. How you think expressing an opinion on an aspect of God's personality is going to disprove the accepted facts by the Christian community of this particular story, I have no idea.
Here is the major flaw in your argument:
You use the analogy of the 2 year -old and the fruitcake. You say the 2 year-old cannot resist doing what he is told not to. However, that would presuppose that the toddler knew enough about evil to get joy out of disobeying; or, in the alternative, that the child desired the cake because he knew what it tasted like. Since Adam and Eve knew no evil they wouldn't be able to take joy in disobedience. Also, they hadn't tasted the fruit, so they had no idea if it would be bitter or sweet.
I'm adding you to my contacts. I can't wait for the next time you claim I am "cornered".
I have to ask this...are you really a Christian messing around?

How do you know they did not know the difference between good and evil? That is a fallacious, presumptuous statement. So is equating grown adults with a 2 year old child. Go back to Logic and Critical Thinking 101 and try again. If that doesn't work read Genesis 2:15-16 where God told Adam it was a tree of knowledge of good and evil.

How are you supposed to tell someone who does not know what sin is, what would happen if he did a certain thing?
Think about you're saying here, it's like you're trying to describe colors to a blind person. it's not possible.
I like your two year old child remarks. You can't describe anything to a two year old child that they have no knowledge of, and expect them to understand.
If God had told Adam what would happen, Adam would've still have no idea what God was talking about, and if God explained to him the repercussions and what sin would enter his existence, then he wouldv'e shattered Adam's innocence.
Example:
Say you work at a law firm, and you bring some papers home you need to work on. You tell your two year old not to touch them, so they ask why, what would you tell them?
You certainly couldn't describe law to them, and give them all the reasons that you needed them so you'd just say "Don't touch them" because you know the child wouldn't understand anything else.

First off I'm no christian. But let me tell you how you've misunderstood the story like countless "Christians". There was no fruit, or tree. It was a metaphor. Original sin was sex. that is why all CHILDREN are baptized to wipe away their parents sin, the original sin which was sex. Eve who first ate the "forbidden fruit" was with the devil who coerced her to eat. She enjoyed it and told Adam he must try it when they (the first humans) had sex they were cast out. Once they were out of the garden is the first time their children are mentioned. Also on a side note some speculate that is why Cain was "evil"(killed his bro) he was the first born, and who did eve first taste the fruit with.
See what I'm saying they don't understand the metaphor. Ally below me is quoting scripture to prove my point without even realizing it. They can't see the forest for the trees. They bacame ashamed, etc...

This is just an other absurd story,. The bible contains it's doctrines and holy, it's percept are binding, it's HISTORIES are True, it's decisions are immutable..
it is look like a traveller's map, the pilgrims staff, the pilots compass, it is given in life will be open on judgement and will be remembered forever. owww Adam did not obey the command of God. Eve was deceived. Adam was not. He knew what he was doing. He chose to sin. Read the story of creation first, You failed to consider all the details. tnx

Genesis chapter 3
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons
Now there was a reason God gave for not eating the fruit of the tree.
Only FLAW is that you have not studied the bible enough and making your own assumptions. Instead of running from God maybe you need to try to run to GOD

The point of the STORY is that humanity as we know it began when man decided to disobey the laws of the wild, and choose knowledge over nature. The story says Adam and Eve were expelled from the bliss of ignorance (paradise) because they decided to do things their way. Their rebellion was the beginning of what we consider "human" thought. Animals show no evidence of belief in a deity.
I love you. You make me laugh.
Cheer up, and have a nice day, kid

Adam knew pure goodness. Take, for instance, dealing with counterfeit money. The main way to recognize the fake money is by becoming familiar with the real money & then the counterfeit suddenly becomes conspicuous. Same with good & evil. Adam knew pure good, & when he chose to follow Eve by eating of the fruit, he was putting disobedience over obedience.

If my two year old son ate the fruit cake, I would lay a curse on him, his sister, and every single human that would ever be born after him. And probably drown them all. And the animals too. I would also unleash disease and deformity.
And if they didn't worship my lovin' a&& by then, I would SO destroy the Universe.
The fruitcake *was* verboten, d'ya hear me?...
