that maybe, just maybe, you are judging people just a bit too harshly? Do you ever feel that maybe you aren't displaying enough of the love of Christ in your dealings with people?

But oldguy, why so harshly? I try to remember, when I deal with people, that I have no idea where they've been or what they've been through. Some need a gentle, not a huge hammer. After all, you have to feed the hungry belly before you can get the attention of the ears, or touch their hearts and mind.

Oops, I meant a gentle hand, not a gentle hammer...lol.

Hey, sudonym, Isaiah is doing just what you said they would. He is quoting Paul...hahaha.

tc, I don't believe in an eternal, fiery hell. If you look at the original texts and languages, Jesus never spoke of it.

Just to clarify, I'm sure you already know this though, that all fundamentalist are not right wing, not all support the Bush administration, and not all are hatemongers. I also want to add that disagreeing with certain "hot topics" that are popular in our country is not hateful judging that displays a lack of love in Christ. Alot of Christians disagree in love, not in hate. And obvioulsy if a Christian really IS being hateful then that is a tragedy to the name of Christ. Gods peace :)

Christian Fundamentalist is an entire contradiction in words! CHRISTIAN – A follower or believer in Jesus. FUNDAMENTALIST individual who believes the Bible is relatively authentic and could desire to be observed precisely. hence they're followers of the bible and not Jesus making them non Christians! yet worse is to stay with it additionally makes them ideologists. IDEOLOGY an concept it relatively is fake or held for the incorrect motives yet is theory with such conviction as to be irrefutable. So Christians have a loving and forgiving god and fundamentalist - properly - basically are no longer Christians! Fundamentalists turning Christianity from a faith to an ideology!

In defense of the uber-conservative fundie Christians, everyone judges.

I'm more of a political moderate, and I see plenty of judging on all sides. Everyone judges everyone else. Many of the liberal Christians think they're the "real" Christians, and so do many of the conservative Christians.

No one is perfect. Don't be too hard on them.

And besides, Jesus was about love, but not ONLY love.

If you are referring to people who are really trying to keep people out of Hell as opposed to just trying to make online friends, then, yes, I do feel. I feel a deep desire to see as many come to Christ as possible before they die, so they won't go to Hell.

I used to "feel" as you do, that I need to be "sensitive" to people's feelings when discussing the message of Christ. But then I really started analyzing the situation. They are dying and going to hell; I'm not. If we were in a burning building and they were not aware of the danger, would it be a good idea to be"sensitive" or "feeling" in my explanation that we are going to die if we don't get out, or do I just grab their hand and RUN!

The latter seems to make more sense.

My answer to you is that because Christians are so harsh, Christianity is condemned to be exterminate. Many Christians are ashamed to call themselves "Christians" and the new generation is in fact running away from Christianity because of hypocrisy, judgment and harsh criticism.

See this article below! It is interesting how it reminds us that Jesus was against pride and arrogance, He was never against people...

The unfortunate thing is that what most people mean by love is "just let us do what we want to do", and Christ never taught that kind of love. Permissiveness is not love, because it recognized that there are consequences to evil which affect the whole society and leads to the judgment of God. True love for humanity stands against evil in all its forms and seek to raise a socitey to higher and higher standards.

You asked a magic question. It will make all right wing fundamentalist Christians disappear in a puff of "wha??"

I have no idea about what is meant by a "right-wing fundamentalist Christian."

But no, absolutely not.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Jesus said in Matthew chapter 5, "Don't judge others."

The fundies I know - we have a lot of them here in Kansas - don't pay much attention to the words of Jesus, and don't like to hear them. They prefer Paul, and Leviticus. I can't understand why they think that they are Christians.

I guess it depends on the Christian you are asking....it's funny, I am usually minding my own business and get attacked or persecuted because of a bumper sticker on my car or a cross on my neck....most of you think we're judging when we are caring, how could you not feel the love of Christ when a total stranger feels led by a Higher Power to pray for you?
