sometimes people go through much suffering before developing faith and love in God- before then they don't really believe.. so what if hypothetically they were struck down before this change of heart was allowed to occur? would they be punished in the same way as if they had never been religious?

...wouldn't Matt 21:21 be a bit of a contradiction?

("Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.")

...why would He have Moses lead the Jews out of Egypt?

...why would He oppose breakthroughs in stem cell research which give the potential to add renewed value to otherwise broken and destroyed lives?

...why would He condemn to hell those who think for themselves, and do not choose to rely on His help?

I already have an opinion..I just want to know what you think....
This is mostly for those who don't like the Bible...
Can the Bible be trusted...Tell me why...
People are always telling me they don't trust the Bible, or like it, but they never prove to my why...
I can't believe you until you SHOW me why....
Show, don't tell...

Why don't you believe in the Bible (or do)??

We all know that Adam and Eve were sinless before eating the fruit.

We all know that God intended for them to reproduce children.

We also know that being naked for them was nothing to be ashamed of and they felf nothing wrong about looking at each others naked bodies.

If Adam looks at Eve's naked body feeling nothing, then how could he get an erection?

Without an erection how would he be able to reproduce?

It was only after He sinned by eating the fruit that He felf aroused by looking at Eve's naked body.

Another point worth looking at was the fact that Adam was feeling to guilt, shame, or any sinfulness as He was pure as an animal having no sense of sin in his mind. He did not know sin.

Then how come Adam sinned when he did not understand it?

Why would God consider Adam sinful when he did not even understand sin until after He ate the fruit?

You won't blame a 2 year old child for eating a forbidden fruit when he did not understand what sin even was.

Okay, before I type this, just know I am NOT making fun of your religion, and this is a completely serious question.

I was chatting with one of my friends a month or so ago, and they mentioned Mormons have -- or at lease USED to -- have sex through sheets? This sounded completely ludacris to me, so I guess I'm just wanting to put my mind at ease on this. I know the Mormon religion is famous for some "unorthodox" beliefs and practices... but seriously...

Aside from the Noahs ark story and the story of David Vs. Goliath etc. Do they ever talk about why the Mosaic laws were set up? or the Miracles of Elijah or Elisha? For example how the dead man simply touched the bones of Elisha and the man was brought back to life?

Many organised religions have homophobia(sexism, racism, etc) in them- but Islam seems to be the most contradictory - on the one hand the Imam/Priests/Magicians/Snake Oil salesmen -say to murder gay men- then as soon as prayer is over they are straight in the gay bars ,cruising for young bucks- what gives?

first ill say that if your one of those close minded religions people you can just leave right now. i don't need a lesson from you.

i cast a strong love/friendship binding spell. to make my friend and i closer. its still going strong. but iv always been a independent person and now i find that if were not spending every second together i feel lost and alone.

my question is. has it backfired? is it doing more damage than good? if you have a more personal answer or need to know more, feel free to email me.

Far too many people say such things as "There is a high rate of suicide among Mormon women" or "Mormon women have more depression" or something like that, and I want to know where they get their statistics to back this up?

And I don't want anything abouto UTAH, I want MORMON. The two are not the same thing. Utah is not all Mormon and not all Mormons live in Utah.

The way my prof. is teaching this section of the class is that the main message of the SotM was that Christians need to internalize holy laws (ie. ten commandments). For example, wanting to murder is as much of a sin as actually murdering.

SO. This in mind, what would the world look like if the Sermon on the Mount were fulfilled?

I can't think of anything other than, "Calm, better, probably not much talking." Anyone able to help me expand?

What part does religion play in daily stress? I

s it more stressful, do you think, in urban homes as opposed to rural homes?

Is Islam a more stressful religion than the others because it's such a dominating feature in a Muslim's life?

Does freedom from religion cause any stress?

Does it interfere in life? Does it shorten your day or week and make things more hectic?

Just wondering ...

For me personally, i believe the literal account of creation in Genesis, but i do consider evolution a possibility, i dont think its wrong to believe in evolution, it doesnt take anything away from God's power and to tell the truth is, is more in his character to let things work in a process more so than instantly. My question to you all is why do you act like evolution is fact? What proof do you have?

Where in the bible does it say you can only have sex for procreation? I've seen people answer "the bible says to only have sex for procreation" but list no reference. And I searched to see if someone had asked this question but there were no real answers.

I'm asking because I just saw 2 people answer a question with the whole no sex except procreation answer.

Why do some Christians spend so much time squabbling over evolution? If God created the world, and science is just learning facts ab the world he created, whats the problem? If God is all powerful why couldnt he create the universe using evolution, big bang, ect.? Darn, he could have done it in 7 nano-seconds for all it matters!
Its just...a pointless debate and I cant understand why its such a hot point....

Christmas has become commercialized and materialized by companies. People everywhere, NOT necessarily Christian, celebrate it. (Yes, even atheists.)
It's a pagan holiday to celebrate the winter solstice: In 350, Pope Julius declared Christ’s birth to be celebrated on December 25th (though Jesus was most likely actually born in the Fall or Spring (if he existed at all)) to probably convert pagan Romans to Christianity.

So how is it wrong for non-Christians to celebrate Christmas not for Christ's birth, but for other reasons?

It's amazing to me the amount of evolutionist's who believe such nonsense. To think they are so mindless as to believe a little dot explodes and creates the universe, all living things were basically spontaneously generated even though spontaneous generation was disproven in the 50's.

The theory of evolution not only contradicts religion but known scientific laws such as the law of biogenesis, the law of kinds, the second law of thermodynamics, and the science of probability. Life does not spring from non-living things. We know this! This is what we observe.

To put this untrue garbage in our schools is only causing the moral fiber of our younger generation to deteriorate rapidly. Generations are now without conscience and kids killing kids because they are taught they are mere animals. How did mankind get to be this pitiable?

Watching them come and go
The Templars and the Saracens
They're traveling the holy land
Opening telegrams

Torture comes and torture goes
Knights who'd give you anything
They bear the cross of Coeur de Leon
Salvation for the mirror blind

But if you pray
all your sins are hooked upon the sky
Pray and the heathen lie will disappear
Prayers they hide
the saddest view
(Believing the strangest things,
loving the alien)

And your prayers they break the sky in two
(Believing the strangest things, loving the alien)

You pray til the break of dawn
(Believing the strangest things, loving the alien)

And you'll believe you're loving the alien
(Believing the strangest things, loving the alien)

Thinking of a different time
Palestine a modern problem
Bounty and your wealth in land
Terror in a best laid plan

Watching them come and go
Tomorrows and the yesterdays
Christians and the unbelievers
Hanging by the cross and nail

What better description of any Abrahamic faith than "Loving the Alien"?

I mean seriously, I don't go around asking if someone wears boxers, briefs, thongs or nothing at all. It's really none of my business; nor is it the business of anyone what LDS/Mormons choose to wear for underwear. To them it's sacret, why can't people just leave it alone?
