It's amazing to me the amount of evolutionist's who believe such nonsense. To think they are so mindless as to believe a little dot explodes and creates the universe, all living things were basically spontaneously generated even though spontaneous generation was disproven in the 50's.

The theory of evolution not only contradicts religion but known scientific laws such as the law of biogenesis, the law of kinds, the second law of thermodynamics, and the science of probability. Life does not spring from non-living things. We know this! This is what we observe.

To put this untrue garbage in our schools is only causing the moral fiber of our younger generation to deteriorate rapidly. Generations are now without conscience and kids killing kids because they are taught they are mere animals. How did mankind get to be this pitiable?

You people saying the big bang and life coming from nothing is not about evolution, need to read. How do you think Evolution explains the beginning of the Universe and life in general? I know it's a sore spot for evolution "believers" but educate me as to how it all began if Evolution doesn't try to explain it exactly like that.

True I shouldn't have put the 50's. Omission, was 1850's

I also think some of you are mistaking what I'm talking about here. I am not speaking of micro evolution which obviously exists but rather macro evolution. What is taught in schools is not merely micro evolution but macro evolution. The 2 are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Just because micro evolution exists, in no way suggests there is any truth at all in macro evolution which is completely void of facts to support it.

William B, Genesis is in my bible. What is your point? Macro Evolution and religion cannot coexist. Adam and Eve were not billions of years ago, nor were they chimps.

No, Alan. It wasn't a magician. It was Almighty God. Why that is harder to believe than everything coming from nothing and mutants running amuck, even though there's no evidence of them, is beyond me.

Gypsy, if you can't prove the origin of earth and life on it with Evolution, that should clue you in a bit since evolution basically says all living things share a common ancestor.

knyghtzero, I don't care what you think they were about. Spontaneous generation simply means a hypothetical organic phenomenon by which living organisms are created from nonliving matter. Again I tell you, life cannot come from nothing.

Maybe you can explain why we have so many different races in the world today if we all came from one family on an ark a couple thousand years ago?

Teaching something through without fully researching it can cause people to run around thinking they know something, when all they're doing is repeating the same mistakes from the generation before.

Evolution may not even be the best answer. It's an attempt to make steps towards finding that answer. Last time I checked it was still being called a theory. I'll take a theory over dogma any day of the week.

Thank you for your point of view.

I think that religion and creationism belongs in religious houses and not in public schools. How can you pick the one religion that is the correct religion to pick the curriculum from? Who is to say your religion is the right one. There are some many different forms of Christianity, I get confused sometimes deciding who is right and who is wrong.

I am old enough to remember prayer in school. As an Air Force Brat I went to 26 different public schools. All the prayers at all the schools were white bread or non-denominational. But they all ended with "in Jesus' name Amen". Now here comes the tough part. I am Jewish and usually the only Jewish kid in the school. I do not believe that Jesus is the savior, the son of God, or God on Earth. So at every school I attended when everyone would stand up and bow their head and say their prayer, I would sit straight in my chair and look straight ahead. At every school, I was sent to the Principal's office for not being a good Christian. Each time my father would come to the various schools and explain to them my and his objection. From then on I usually had to stand in the hall during prayers, which made me stick even farther out from everyone else.

As for evolution, it is no longer a theory, it is a fact. How else can you explain all the millions of animals that have gone extinct on this planet. As a believer in the Jewish faith, I want to remind you that Genisis is in my Bible. Not yours. Creationism is a very good parable but does not belong in school. I don't tell you what or how to believe in what you believe, don't tell me what or how to believe in what I believe. I always thought that Christianity taught people to be kind and understanding, turn the other cheek, and all that stuff. You seem to have forgotten being fair and a true Christian.

you can imagine my amazement, then. your ignorance is strong. perhaps you're normally a moral person, but on this topic you have either allowed yourself to be decieved or are knowingly participating in the deception of others. i think that your actions are fairly contemptible either way.

"a little dot explodes and creates the universe" is not even as accurate and useful a description of big bang cosmology as "a magic man made men from mud" is of the genesis account. big bang cosmology is nothing to do with biological evolution. spontaneous generation was disposed of by pasteur, long before the 1950s - and it has nothing to do with abiogenesis (emergence of life from simple physical/chemical systems) or biological evolution (which requires existing life). thus far you have said nothing that is even relevant, let alone true.

the law of biogenesis is known to apply to modern life. no one has ever proved that it is universal, such a proof is impossible, even from your viewpoint (unless you think that god is a biological cell?). there is no such thing as the law of kinds. if the second law contradicts evolution, it contradicts development even more so. since babies do in fact grow up, something is wrong with your understanding. life does not spring from gods either - this is observed (do you see why your argument is dumb?).

you have not even attempted to demonstrate that evolution is a cause of amorality, you just assert if as if "everyone knows it". why is that?

There are various theories of evolution, and the most supported ones do not in any way imply that God does not exist. Atheists believe God does not exist, not necessarily evolutionists.

I am a believer is evolution of species, though not of one kind to another.... If you were entirely conscious of even just one cell in your body that is plenty rich enough an experience to allow human life. In fact we all came from just one cell which was formed in the union of sperm to egg... Evolution clearly happens in individuals, and groups, across time.

Every human alive today evolved from one cell prehistorically and it is now evidenced in the mothers womb with each conception. If it happens in each person then of course it will happen across groups just as any natural number will always be divisible by prime, i.e. /1.

As it is above, so it is below, and reciprocally so.

If all this were not so, no good could exist.

God bless.

you are quite right ... your argument against creation is dully noted.
And just because we can't prove the origins of the earth or the universe does not mean we can't prove evolution. The history of the spiders still exists all living forms of them their new their old and their links.. same holds true for many insects and the plant life as well....

You need to do some more studying. When I learned evolution in high school it made perfect sense and did not interfere with anything else they taught. Its true evolution has gaps, but so what? Its the best theory out there right now.

And if you studied evolution at all, you would realize that we get our sense of morality from evolving in groups structures that require it for survival. Helping and being kind to each other just works out best for all of us.

Peace be upon you.

"little dot explodes and creates the universe"
This isn't evolution.

"Life does not spring from non-living things"
This is also not evolution.

Evolution doesn't contradict anything else that is scientific. It is the cornerstone of Biology. It is a theory and a fact. The theory, how evolution happened, explains the fact.

And, yes, it is true that humans are animals. We are primates of the family Hominidae which includes chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans.

* Evolution is every much a fact as the theory of gravity.
* Over 99.8% of scientists in relevant field accept evolution.
* There are no alternative scientific theories.
* There is a huge amount of evidence in support of evolution...
* And zero evidence against it.

No, from my experience of teaching, the state (UK) is having this effect, whether teaching evolution or not. It has been sad to see the changing philosophy in teaching cause such a deterioration in standards over the last 18 years; since the National Curriculum was introduced.

Excuse ME??? Creationism, or clever layout, isn't taught in MY close by colleges! technological know-how is taught, and evolution IS technological know-how. on account that 1986, this concern has arise 4 situations on the close by college board conferences and every time, I spoke out against faith and FOR evolution.

Your are the ignorant one. None of the things you mentioned have anything to do with evolution.

Evolution is a observable phenomena, and the TOH attempts to explain how it happens. It is also one of the most supported scientific theory's ever. Better than the "Theory of Gravity".

Before you open your big mouth again, try not putting your foot in it.
