Many organised religions have homophobia(sexism, racism, etc) in them- but Islam seems to be the most contradictory - on the one hand the Imam/Priests/Magicians/Snake Oil salesmen -say to murder gay men- then as soon as prayer is over they are straight in the gay bars ,cruising for young bucks- what gives?

well said SKep-doc! repression is the biggest cause of war in the world. Simply showing Bin Laden and Dubya in a manly embrace could stop all this fighting in a stroke(not that kind)

My guess?
The same way gay christians cope among their homophobic faith buddies...they become hyper-zealots.!!!!
super christians!!! and the sin they hate the most, is the one they secretly can't stop thinking about.
(Think Ted Haggard)

Islamic terrorism may well be fueled entirely by repressed homosexuality.

There are gay Muslims, yet there is no longer a lot help for them. In some Muslim international locations, they are executed. For Jews, the placement is amazingly diverse. in basic terms 2 branches of Judaism firmly oppose homosexuality, and in a unmarried of those, there is a few replace taking position with an brazenly gay Orthodox rabbi. The Torah easily says little or no, if something, about homosexuality. English translations thereof, although have plenty to assert. Translators were taking liberties with the textual content for a minimum of four hundred years, if no longer longer. In Hebrew, the Torah does no longer let 2 adult males to lie down in a lady's mattress (for sex, or the different reason). The Torah does no longer connect Sodom with homosexuality, nor do any of the historic Jewish commentaries on the Torah. contained in the Tanakh, there's a close factor out of a similar-sex marriage, and passing factor out of yet another. those are heavily lined over contained in the English translations.

Homophobia? Islam like many other religions considers homosexuality as an unnatural act against God, this is part of the religion itself and so doesn't make it 'homophobic'. If you are a Muslim it would contradict.
Also, it's quite naive to make such a statement that these people you may or may not have come across reflect what Islam is.
If a person is a homosexual, then it says certain things about what faiths you accept - you can't change those faiths to fit in with your lifestyle, this is not the nature of religion or faith itself, and most definitely not Islam. Make your choices, homosexuality is simply not a part of Islam.

Good question I don't know. But as a Muslim I have never heard of an Imam going to a gay bar after prayers. That's a new one to me. I'm sure that somewhere on this planet it has happened, but you said it like it was done by every Imam.
But Islam isn't contradictory on homosexuality. It explains why, and does not beat around the bush by it either. We don't have any gay Imams leading any Mosque's, at least not to the publics knowledge. If that happened, then you can talk of contradictions. Til then, good luck ;)

According to a question answered recently by the president of Iran there are no gay Muslims. He was not ask about snake oil salesmen so I do not know about them but from the way he talked though I believe you may have them mixed up with some other religious folks. I just do not believe the president of Iran would Bull Sh*t us a little . Do you?

Islam and homosexuality do not sit comfortably together, it is true. In some muslim groups/cultures gays are beaten and murdered. Controlled by their families they stay in the closet, play the expected role or even develop psychoses. They even take on the hatred for gays that is expected of them. I know, this happens in other places, too.

If you want to know about Iran, there is an excellent programme about gays there:

Well think of it this way should they rather get married to a wife who they will never love and have kids and then leave all of the to go to a man which they could have done in the first place without involving Innocent people e.g children and their wife. Think about it ??

Islam is not homophobic, Islam is instead the perfect manifestation of homosexual culture.

It is true that Islam condemns anal intercourse, but thats a small price to pay for homosexuals who then get to enjoy a single sex culture where woman are separated from men and feminity itself is totally stripped out of society.

Bars are not allowed in Islam, nor are they needed...access to the same sex is unbriddled and ever present. Indeed, homosexuals rule the whole of islam, and islam is best described as an assualt on heterosexual culture.

As for myself, I wish there was no islam, or homo-phobia, but instead, acceptance of both hetero and homo expression...no fear of either.

Where did you get the idea that they go straight (no pun intended) to gay-bars after prayers? There are no bars in Muslim countries...let alone 'gay' ones.
It's a good question though...many Muslims must be living a lie.
Pretty soon, in Britain it will be illegal to say anything bad about homosexual perversions...you might even be jailed...The Imams had better watch out...or is it only Christians that this obscene law will apply to?

All religions need to increase their numbers by the "go-forth-and-increase" way of life.

And so, for them, sexual activity must be directed solely into having children. Homosexuals do not help their religion here.

Can't have it both ways.
