Just wondering, do christians/catholics believe that the followers of every other religion, budhist, muslim are in league with the devil and are going to hell when they die or

Are most christians open to the idea that if a person lives a good life and follows the 10 comandments even though he didnt formaly know about them and is of another religion will go to heaven still, but in the back of their mind are secretly happy that they choose the right side just in case?

In The Christian Bible. It says that without god you are empty. I want to know do you feel an emptiness? I'm not A Christian btw. Just wanting to know if that's true.
Thanks

I know that anything sexual is haram unless you are married with the other person. What other things are haram, or even just looked down upon?

1. Is it bad if I just have friends that are girls (not girlfriends, I know that's forbidden)?

2. Is it ok to just chat sometimes (as long as someone else is there too, or in groups of people)?

3. Is hugging someone of the opposite gender bad if you're not family with him or her?

Someone told me (I can't remember who or where) that Jesus was sent down from heaven by God to add to the Jewish message, not to create a whole new religion? So then what was the defining moment where His teachings became truly Christian and not Jewish? Was it after He died, or prehaps before? Is there any scripture or other work on this or is it just opinions? Is there no defining moment at all, but more of an evolution?

In school, while studying Christianity, we mainly just focus on that its implications in the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages, and in class at church we mainly just focus on Jesus's teachings and relating them to everyday life. My teacher at school already went into this whole big speech on the first day of class about how he is a world history teacher, and he will not allow religious debates in his class. My religion teacher, although he means well, is not a Biblical scholar. My Parish's Priest is on sabatical right now, and I don't really know the other priest.

So, possibly foolishly, I bought this statue at a gift shop, of a goddess unknown to me. I figured, the place gets pretty busy, reasonably priced statues are hard to find (this was $10!), and how hard can it be to find online?

Very! I can't seem to find a match anywhere! Maybe you can help?

To my knowledge, it's a goddess - slim waist, breasts covered, with a snake head. It doesn't necessarily look like a cobra, but it is definately a snake. The crown is an atef, but with swirly horns coming out of the sides. If this information doesn't help, I'll try to provide pictures.

Renunet? Buto? Mersetger? A fake (which Mom suggested....ugh, I'd be so embarassed)?

Does anyone know?

When I've asked about which Christians to trust, many of the answers have said, "Read the Bible and you will know who is trustworthy."

This makes it sound like all Christians are ON THEIR OWN to interpret the Bible without any guidance from others. Sure, you trust the holy spirit, but that kind of trust has led to the thousand-plus denominations found in the US alone. Each denomination is filled with heretics in the eyes of most of the others, even though each one believes that they've interpreted the Bible correctly.

So how do seekers discover the best course to follow when those who SUPPOSEDLY KNOW say, "Just read your Bible." Wouldn't they also be the first to condemn the seekers if they interpreted the scripture differently?

I am dating a man who is divorced. I can honestly see myself marrying him, but as I am trying to become a stronger Christian, I need some advice.

I was brought up believing that divorce is a sin except for unfaithfulness, and if a woman marries a man that divorced for anything else, that is adultry.

My boyfriend divorced his exwife for many reasons, but one of the main ones was because she became addicted to drugs. Also he is 99% positive that she DID cheat on him.

He had a different perspective that I had never thought about. When a spouse is unfaithful, they chose someone else over them. Well, his ex wife chose drugs over him and his daughter and neglected their marriage. He believes this is also a form of unfaithfulness.

I would like to hear your opinions. Don't just say "God said so"; if you want to give scriptures that is fine.

DO you think all rules in the Bible are cut and dry, or do you think some thigns change over time or could be interpreted differently?

I am trying to live my life clean and just and obedient... I try really hard... I don't always win the battle although my sins may be quite small in someone else's eye's... Sin is sin... And I fall short daily...

WHY is it when I try so HARD to do all that is just and true and correct, I get pushed down by some sort of action of others or just life in general?

Does it mean God is rejecting me? I don't really believe that but sometimes it feels a bit confusing...

Insight? If so it is welcome .....

if cain is only the 4th person on earth - who is he so afraid of, how does he go to the neighboring town of Nod and find a wife, I'm starting to think that a literal translation of the creation story is defective and maybe there is some meaning that we are missing. any thoughts?

Of hundreds of cultures and different religions, do we pray to the same God but just in a different image.

I have this classmate who's really weird and he told me once that suicide is "the gift", why? Ok it goes like this: he said that it is our right to choose who we want to be with, right? Right! (I said) And don't you think that choosing to be with your creator is something noble? I guess so (I replied)...therefore committing suicide for the reason of "choosing to be with your creator" is the best "gift" you can give for "him". Oh My God! he really gives me the creeps. Anybody else out there who thinks likewise? Or he just lacks a lot of attention?

Whilst the Pagan cross ( Egyptian Ankh ) and the Jewish fish symbol have been hijacked by Christianity, it appears the IPU , ( Invisible Pink Unicorn ), the Flying Spaghetti Monster and Bertram Russell’s celestial Tea-Pot have become identified with Atheism.

I am looking for an Icon , a symbol , that represents Atheism , not a negation of other belief systems – although other atheist icons will be of interest .

What I am getting at is ... should all atheists carry a Green balloon ? or make their Females only wear only Green Jewellery or always arrive for work 10 minutes late ?

I don’t mind buying a bagel from a Jewish Bakery or buying Fruit from a Muslim at midday. I don’t even mind marrying a Christian.

However , what symbol can I Put in my shop window / Wear on my Lapel ... Put on my pre-printed stationary ... that all Theistic believers will Understand and Know.

I hate to offend or upset anyone. If someone is going to buy a Battery for their watch from me .. I do not want them to offend their God ... they just need to be a hypocrite or an Atheist .

Many Christian sects believe that they are the only ones with the correct teaching and faith. JW's believe that they are sepertate from other Christians sects and that they hold the only true faith. I personally have studied with JW's and have felt the force of God once. I talk about this in my earlier question.

Many people that where not JW, in fact most of them said that they too had felt the presence of God. This made me confuse.
Why would God pour Holy Spirit on people that are not in the correct faith? People from many differenct chrisitan sects are claiming they have felt the presence of God.

Have you felt the force of God or presence of God in your Christian religion or even if you are not a Christian... and what makes you so sure is from God and not the Devil. As the Bible says that Satan transforms himself as an angel of light to deceive people.

What makes you so sure that you are feeling the power of The God and not some evil deceiving force to trick you?
