Also, what are your views on being put in the same category as Islamic fundamentalists or others who have different beliefs but follow them with similar parochial intensity?

It used to bother me until I realized everybody on here is a fundamentalist, including atheists.

As a Christian Fundie myself, I can tell you that I have more respect for people OF ALL RELIGIONS who "Walk the Talk" than those of ANY religion who only talk, but won't walk. BTW - God calls these people "luke-warm".... and He vomits them out.

And I'm not surprised by the way that so many people lump Christian Fundamentalists together with cults and extremist weirdos - to people who are too lazy to actually investigate what the Bible says, we all look the same.

I don't think any Christian is offended by being identified as a Christian. But I think "Fundie" is a derrogative term that non-believers came up with.

We just love classifying & filing each other away, don't we ?

I like being called a Christian, or a believer. Or by my name, of course.

call me what you want it hurts you not me to know you are jealous of my happiness in being a Christian!
fundies are the one constantly spewing the Bible with out really knowing what it says & refuse to quit even when asked nicely. so I rarely get called a Fundy LOL!

Does not offend me one bit.
All I care about is when God calls me His son!
Compare a Christians view on life and forgiveness to Islams, and you will see the difference.

as a Christian, I don't limit my knowledge with just the Bible, so I am not a fundie. I am not against reading history like fundies are, so I am definitely not a fundie. to be one, is a great insult to my intelligence that God gave to me.

I don't believe it is zeal that is the issue, but what you are zealous for....the apostles were zealous....Jesus was zealous (and fundamental)....What better role model for perfection?

The real shame is if you are zealous for wrong things (suicide bombings, etc)....or if you are "lukewarm" about things you ought to be passionate about....

I'm not offended by it. I know that the Bible is 100% true. And I'm not ashamed of it.

And the mere words of someone slandering me means nothing. I know the Lord Jesus Christ and the truth in the Bible. Their insults don't matter to me.

As for Islam.... Islam is false and the comparison is a straw man fallacy.
