So, possibly foolishly, I bought this statue at a gift shop, of a goddess unknown to me. I figured, the place gets pretty busy, reasonably priced statues are hard to find (this was $10!), and how hard can it be to find online?

Very! I can't seem to find a match anywhere! Maybe you can help?

To my knowledge, it's a goddess - slim waist, breasts covered, with a snake head. It doesn't necessarily look like a cobra, but it is definately a snake. The crown is an atef, but with swirly horns coming out of the sides. If this information doesn't help, I'll try to provide pictures.

Renunet? Buto? Mersetger? A fake (which Mom suggested....ugh, I'd be so embarassed)?

Does anyone know?

Nothing foolish if you felt drawn to it. What kind of Gift shop was it? Did it have any details, manufacture info on a possible storage box? Any info to help track down the artist?

If it wasn't for the covered breasts, she sounds like some of the ones I've seen from Crete.

Anyway "fake" is still not an issue. I proudly wear a recreation of a Paleolithic Goddess figurine - & I know it's had a lot of artist interpration with it..
